Hanoi Capital of Vietnam

Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam. It covers an area of 3,328.9 square kilometres (1,285 sq mi). With an estimated population of 7.7 million as of 2018, it is the second largest city in Vietnam. The metropolitan area, encompassing nine additional neighbouring provinces, has an estimated population of 16 million. Located in the central area of the Red River Delta, Hanoi is the commercial, cultural, and educational centre of Northern Vietnam. Having an estimated nominal GDP of US$32.8 billion, it is the second most productive economic centre of Vietnam, following Ho Chi Minh City.

Transport in Vietnam

Transportation in Vietnam is improving rapidly in terms of both quantity and quality. Especially road traffic is growing rapidly but the major roads are dangerous and slow to travel on due to outdated design and an inappropriate traffic mix. In recent years, the construction of expressways has accelerated. Air travel is also important for long distance travel. Metro systems are under construction in the two metropolises of Vietnam, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Ho Chi Minh City Municipality in Vietnam

Ho Chi Minh City, also known by its former name of Saigon, is the most populous city in Vietnam with a population of 8.4 million as of 2017. Located in southeastern Vietnam, the metropolis surrounds the Saigon River and covers about 2,061 square kilometres. From 1955 to 1975, Saigon was the capital of the Republic of Vietnam, commonly known as South Vietnam.

Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport is the busiest airport in Vietnam with 32.5 million passengers in 2016 and 38.5 million passengers in 2018. It serves Ho Chi Minh City as well as the rest of southeastern Vietnam. As of January 2017, it had a total capacity of only 25 million passengers, which has caused constant congestion and sparked debate for expanding or building a new airport. The airport's IATA code, SGN, is derived from the city's former name of Saigon.

Thái Bình Province Province of Vietnam

Thái Bình is a coastal eastern province in the Red River Delta region of northern Vietnam. Its name is Sino-Vietnamese (太平) for "great peace." Pacific Province. It is about 18 km from Nam Định, 70 km from Haiphong, and 110 km from Hanoi.

Bitexco Financial Tower architectural structure

Bitexco Financial Tower is a skyscraper in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. At its completion in 2010, it became the tallest building in Vietnam and kept this status until January 2011, when it was surpassed by Keangnam Hanoi Landmark Tower. With 68 floors above ground and three basements, the building has a height of 262.5 metres (861 ft), making it the second tallest building in the city, fifth tallest in Vietnam, and the 263rd tallest in the world, as of the beginning of 2018.

District 2, in which the new urban area of Thu Thiem is located, is an urban district of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. As of 2010, the district had a population of 140,621, a total area of 50 km².

Saigon Times Square

Times Square is a high-rise building in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This tower is a 40-storey joint tower and features a modern architectural style. Construction costs, invested by Times Square (Vietnam) Investment Joint Stock Company, totals approximately $125 million USD. The height to the top of the tower is 164 m. The tower was once the third tallest building in Ho Chi Minh City after Saigon One Tower and Bitexco Financial Tower. Currently, Saigon Times Square ranks sixth in height in the city and 23rd nationally.

District 1, Ho Chi Minh City Urban district in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

District 1 is the central urban district of Ho Chi Minh City, the largest city in Vietnam. With a total area of 7.7211 km2 (2.9811 sq mi) the district has a population of 204,899 people as of 2010. The district is divided into 10 small subsets which are called wards (phường). District 1 contains most of the city's administrative offices, consulates, and large buildings. District 1 is the busiest district in the city with the highest living standards. Đồng Khởi street and Nguyễn Huệ boulevard in District 1 are the city's two main commercial centers. Đồng Khởi street is an area in high demand for real estate, hitting a record price of $50,000 per square meter in 2007.

District 7 is an urban district of Ho Chi Minh City, the largest city in Vietnam. As of 2010, the district had a population of 274,828, an area of 36 km².

The North–South express railway is a proposed high speed railway in Vietnam. The line would begin in Hanoi, crossing provinces and municipalities of Hanoi, Hà Tây, Hà Nam, Ninh Bình, Thanh Hóa, Nghệ An, Hà Tĩnh, Quảng Bình, Quảng Trị, Thừa Thiên-Huế, Đà Nẵng, Quảng Nam, Quảng Ngãi, Bình Định, Phú Yên, Khánh Hòa, Ninh Thuận, Bình Thuận, Đồng Nai, Bình Dương, and coming to an end in Ho Chi Minh City. The rail line would connect the two most developed areas in Vietnam which are Hanoi in the North's Red River Delta in the north and Ho Chi Minh City in the South's Mekong River Delta. The total proposed length would be 1,570 kilometres (980 mi), compared with the 1,729-kilometre (1,074 mi) of the old railway line. The cost of the line is estimated at US$55.85 billion, to be funded by official development assistance from Japan and by the Vietnamese government itself. The project is planned to be implemented in three phases: Hanoi to Vinh city ; Vinh City to Nha Trang ; and Nha Trang to Ho Chi Minh City. Construction activities on the first phase are expected to commence in 2020, and the whole project is scheduled for completion in 2050. This project is part of the country's railway transport development strategy by 2020 with a vision to 2050. The project is also part of the Trans-Asian railway network.

Saigon One Tower

Saigon One Tower, is a high-rise building under construction located at 34A Ton Duc Thang Street, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This tower is invested by Saigon M&C and Dong A bank, totals approximately $228 million USD. The building will be a 41-storey tower with three functions.

Sabeco World Trade Center is the unofficial name of a skyscraper proposed to be constructed in 2010 at 2-4-6 Hai Ba Trung, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This tower, which was not developed, was expected to have 40 floors, feature a traditional Vietnamese house, and be one of the highest buildings in Vietnam. The architect of the tower was Architect HOK International. As of 2010, the highest building in Vietnam is Bitexco Financial Tower in Ho Chi Minh City. Saigon Plaza will include offices, entertainment, shopping malls, hotel and a convention hall. The name “World Trade Center” is a trademark owned by World Trade Centers Association (WTCA), and is used under license by WTCA’s global network of members in nearly 100 countries. The former Sabeco project was not licensed or authorized by WTCA.

Landmark 81 Tall thing

Landmark 81 is a super-tall skyscraper in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The investor and primary developer for the project is Vinhomes, a Vietnamese corporation that is also the country's largest real-estate company. Landmark 81 is the tallest building in Vietnam, the tallest completed building in Southeast Asia since July 2018 and the 17th tallest building in the world.

The 2015 Ho Chi Minh City International Women Football Tournament is an invitational women's football tournament hosted in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This will be the first time that Vietnam will host an international women's football tournament.

Spirit of Saigon is a mixed-use development currently under construction consisting of a podium and two high-rise towers in Ho Chi Minh City. The architectural firm behind the project, Carlos Zapata Studio, also designed the nearby Bitexco Financial Tower. Upon completion, it will become the tallest twin buildings in Ho Chi Minh City.
