Career

Vijay Chandar made his directorial debut with Vaalu (2015). The film began production in 2012 and released in 2015 after much delay. The reason for the delay was the break after the first schedule. [1] [2] Chandar's next film was Sketch (2018) starring Vikram. [3] [4] The film was an average success. [4] His next film was Sangathamizhan (2019) with Vijay Sethupathi. [5]

Thaman composed the music while Sakthi and T. S. Suresh handled the cinematography and editing respectively.

Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha Krishnan are in the prominent roles as Ram and Jaanu, while newcomers Gouri G. Kishan and Aadithya Bhaskar played the younger versions. The film was released on 12 January 2018.

Kadaisi Vivasayi is a 2022 Indian Tamil-language drama film by M. Manikandan. It stars an 85-year-old farmer named Nallandi and features Vijay Sethupathi and Yogi Babu in supporting roles. Besides writing and directing, Manikandan produced the film and helmed the cinematography as well. Kadaisi Vivasayi released on 11 February 2022 and received widespread critical acclaim but ended up as a box office failure. Lokesh Kanagaraj is an Indian film director, screenwriter and producer who works in Tamil films. He started his career with a short film in the 2016 anthology Aviyal. He later directed his first feature film Maanagaram (2017). He created the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU) franchise after the commercial success of Kaithi (2019), the franchise's first installment. He directed Master (2021), a standalone featuring Vijay which emerged a commercial success during the COVID-19 pandemic. Sangathamizhan is a 2019 Indian Tamil-language action drama film written and directed by Vijay Chandar. The film stars Vijay Sethupathi in the title role with Nivetha Pethuraj and Raashii Khanna, Soori, Nassar, Ravi Kishan, and Ashutosh Rana playing pivotal roles. The music is composed by Vivek-Mervin, and cinematography was handled by R. Velraj. Principal photography reportedly commenced during February 2019 in Hyderabad. The film was released on 15 November 2019. It received highly negative reviews and was a flop at the box-office.

The film stars Kamal Haasan in the titular role, alongside Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Narain, Kalidas Jayaram, Gayathrie, Chemban Vinod Jose, Santhana Bharathi and Elango Kumaravel. It is the second instalment in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe and is a spiritual successor to the 1986 film of the same name. The film follows Vikram, a former commander of the black-ops squad's pilot batch, who sets to take down Sandhanam, the runner of a drug syndicate named Vetti Vagaiyara.

The Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), also known as the Loki Cinematic Universe or Lokiverse, is an Indian media franchise and shared universe of Tamil-language action thriller films created by Lokesh Kanagaraj. It is currently the highest grossing Tamil film franchise.
