The Vincent Graves Greene Philatelic Research Foundation is a nonprofit philatelic library, publisher and expertisation service based in Ontario, Canada.
The Foundation was formed in 1975 through a series of gifts from renowned Canadian philatelist, Vincent Graves Greene. [1] [2]
The Foundation is incorporated and registered as a charitable organization for Canadian tax purposes.
The Foundation is overseen by a Board of Directors. Since 2006 the Honorary Chairman of the Board has been the philatelist Kenneth Rowe. David McLaughlin was appointed president on November 13, 2023. [3]
The Foundation is an active publisher of works relating to Canadian philately.
The Foundation provides an expertisation service for philatelic items from British North America and since 1976 has issued over 18500 expert opinions. The Foundation is a member of the Association of International Philatelic Experts (AIEP).
The Foundation library is named The Harry Sutherland Philatelic Library. [4] [5] Natalie Mitchell was appointed the library's manager, effective November 1, 2023. [4]
Stamp collecting is the collecting of postage stamps and related objects. It is an area of philately, which is the study of stamps. It has been one of the world's most popular hobbies since the late nineteenth century with the rapid growth of the postal service, as a stream of new stamps was produced by countries that sought to advertise their distinctiveness through their stamps.

David Feldman MA. BBS, RDP(I).FRPSL is a professional philatelist, auctioneer, art specialist and author. He held his first stamp auction in 1967. Feldman is Honorary Chairman of David Feldman SA, a Geneva-based auction company, through which he attained record prices for some of the world's most famous postage stamps. In 1993, Feldman auctioned the "Bordeaux Cover", which comprised the 1847 1d Orange-red and the 2d Deep Blue Mauritius "Post Office" stamps, which brought 6,175,000 Swiss francs including all commissions, at that time the highest price ever paid for any philatelic item. He also sold the unique 1855 Sweden Treskilling Yellow stamp at auction in 1996, which at the time was the highest price ever paid for a single stamp, for which he was pictured in the Guinness Book of Records. That record was eclipsed in 2014 by the sale of the British Guiana 1c magenta.

Dieter Bortfeldt FRPSL was a graphic designer and award-winning philatelist who was a specialist in the philately of Colombia. He designed the "Famous Colombians" and "Tourism" postage stamps of Colombia issued in 1993.
Major Ronald Norman Spafford, known as Ronnie Spafford, was a British army officer and philatelist who was an expert in the stamps and postal history of the Falkland Islands and developed a deep interest in those islands.
Michael Madesker FRPSL was a Canadian philatelist who was appointed to the Roll of Distinguished Philatelists in 2000. He is a fellow of the Royal Philatelic Society of London. He obtained the Geldert and Dube Medals for his philatelic writing and was president of the Royal Philatelic Society of Canada. In 2010 he received the Philatelic Achievement Award of the Smithsonian Museum. He made a donation of his philatelic medals to the Vincent Graves Greene Philatelic Research Foundation.
