Virginia's 52nd House of Delegates district is one of 100 seats in the Virginia House of Delegates, the lower house of the state's bicameral legislature. It represents part of Prince William County. The seat is currently held by Democrat Luke E. Torian. [1]
Torian was first elected in 2009, taking office in 2010. In the 2009 election, he defeated Republican Rafael Lopez in a contest to replace Republican Jeffrey M. Frederick, a three-term Delegate who did not seek reelection after losing the Virginia Republican Party chairmanship in April 2009. [2]

The politics of Virginia have followed major historical events and demographic changes in the commonwealth. Luke E. Torian is an American politician. Since 2010 he has served in the Virginia House of Delegates, representing the 52nd district in the Prince William County suburbs of Washington, D.C. He is a member of the Democratic Party.

A member of the Republican Party, Pillion represents the 40th district in the Virginia Senate in Southwest Virginia. He previously represented the 4th district in the Virginia House of Delegates.

The Virginia House of Delegates election of 2017 was held on Tuesday, November 7. All 100 seats in the Virginia House of Delegates were contested. The Republican Party held a 66–34 majority in the House of Delegates before the election but lost 15 seats to the Democratic Party, resulting in the Republicans holding a 50–49 advantage. After a recount, the result of the election in the 94th district was called a tie. The candidate to hold the seat was determined by random drawing on January 4, 2018, which resulted in the Republicans holding a 51–49 majority.

Virginia's 31st House of Delegates district election, 2011, held 8 November 2011, was a contest between incumbent Republican Scott Lingamfelter and Democratic challenger Roy Coffey. Coffey argued that legislators should concentrate on spending money on people rather than industries. Lingamfelter argued, "Our nation is in peril. There are people that believe today that the constitution is nothing more than a nice collection of suggestions. Folks, the constitution is not a collection of suggestions it is the law of this land."
Virginia's 23rd House of Delegates district elects one of 100 seats in the Virginia House of Delegates, the lower house of the state's bicameral legislature. District 23 represents part of the city of Lynchburg and parts of Amherst and Bedford counties. The seat is currently held by Republican Wendell Walker, who succeeded T. Scott Garrett after he did not seek reelection in the 2019 election.

The 2019 Virginia House of Delegates election was held on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, concurrently with the elections for the Senate of Virginia, to elect members to the 161st Virginia General Assembly. All 100 seats in the Virginia House of Delegates were up for election. It resulted in Democrats gaining 6 seats in the House of Delegates, and gaining control of both chambers of the General Assembly, marking the first time that Democrats held control of both legislative and executive branches in Virginia since 1993.

The 2023 Virginia Senate election is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, concurrently with elections for the Virginia House of Delegates, to elect senators to all 40 seats in the Senate of Virginia for the 163rd and 164th Virginia Assembly. Nomination primaries held through the Department of Elections were held June 20, 2023. These will be the first elections held following redistricting as a result of the 2020 census.
The 2023 Virginia's 4th congressional district special election was a special election to the U.S. House of Representatives that was held to fill Virginia's 4th congressional district for the remainder of the 118th United States Congress. The seat became vacant after incumbent Democrat Donald McEachin died on November 28, 2022, of colorectal cancer. State Senator Jennifer McClellan was declared the victor shortly after the polls closed, winning in a landslide against her Republican opponent.
