Vitebsk State Technological University (VSTU) is an technological university located in Vitebsk, Belarus. [2]
Belarus, officially the Republic of Belarus, is a landlocked country in Eastern Europe. It is bordered by Russia to the east and northeast, Ukraine to the south, Poland to the west, and Lithuania and Latvia to the northwest. Covering an area of 207,600 square kilometres (80,200 sq mi) and with a population of 9.4 million, Belarus is the thirteenth-largest and the twentieth-most populous country in Europe. Vitebsk, or Viciebsk, is a city in Belarus. The capital of the Vitebsk Region, it has 366,299 inhabitants, making it the country's fourth-largest city. It is served by Vitebsk Vostochny Airport and Vitebsk Air Base.
Vitebsk Region or Vitebsk Oblast or Vitsebsk Voblasts is a region (oblast) of Belarus with its administrative center being Vitebsk. It is located near the border with Russia.

Belarus is an Eastern European country with a rich tradition of folk and religious music. The country's folk music traditions can be traced back to the times of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The country's musical traditions spread with its people to countries like Russia, Canada, United States, Kazakhstan and Latvia. The people of Belarus were exposed mostly to Russian pop music during this period and also after independence in 1991. In 2002, however, President Alexander Lukashenko has signed a decree requiring 50% of all FM broadcast music to be Belarusian in origin, and since January 1, 2005 the rule was made even stricter. However, it does not regulate the language of the songs, so most of the music which is broadcast is still in Russian.
The Lovat is a river in Vitebsk Oblast of Belarus, Usvyatsky, Velikoluksky, and Loknyansky Districts, as well as of the city of Velikiye Luki, of Pskov Oblast and Kholmsky, Poddorsky, Starorussky, and Parfinsky Districts of Novgorod Oblast in Russia. The source of the Lovat is Lake Lovatets in northeastern Belarus, and the Lovat is a tributary of Lake Ilmen. Its main tributaries are the Loknya (left), the Kunya (right), the Polist (left), the Redya (left), and the Robya (right). The towns of Velikiye Luki and Kholm, as well as the urban-type settlement of Parfino, are located on the banks of the Lovat.
Novopolotsk is a city in Vitebsk Oblast, Belarus, with a population of 107,458. Founded in 1958, it is located close to the city of Polotsk and the name literally means "New Polotsk".
The International Festival of Arts “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk”, also known as Slavic Bazaar, is an annual festival held in Vitebsk, Belarus under the auspices of the Belarusian Government since 1992. Its main program is devoted to Slavic music. The main participants are artists from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, countries of the former Yugoslavia, Poland and Bulgaria with guests from many other countries, both Slavic and non-Slavic.
Vitebsk Vostochny Airport is an airport serving Vitebsk in Belarus. It is located 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) southeast of the city. It accommodates aircraft up to the size of a Tupolev Tu-154, and can also accommodate the Il-76.

Another large lake in Verkhnyadzvinsk District is Lisno, which is the twelfth largest in Belarus.
Vitebsk Governorate was an administrative unit (guberniya) of the Russian Empire, with the seat of governorship in Vitebsk. It was established in 1802 by splitting the Byelorussia Governorate and existed until 1924. Today most of the area belongs to Belarus, the northwestern part to Latvia and the northeastern part to Pskov and Smolensk Oblasts of Russia.
Mark Grigoryevich Fradkin was a Soviet composer, author of numerous popular songs and musical scores for forty films. In 1979, Mark Fradkin received the USSR State Prize and, in 1985, he was granted the status of the People’s Artist of the USSR.
