<i>Mayabazar</i> 1957 film by K. V. Reddy

Mayabazar is a 1957 Indian epic fantasy film directed by K. V. Reddy. It was produced by B. Nagi Reddy and Aluri Chakrapani under their banner, Vijaya Vauhini Studios. The film was shot simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil languages, but with a few differences in the cast. The story is an adaptation of the folk tale Sasirekha Parinayam, which in turn is based on the epic Mahabharata. It revolves around the roles of Krishna and Ghatotkacha, as they try to reunite Arjuna's son Abhimanyu with his love, Balarama's daughter (Savitri). The Telugu version features Gummadi, Mukkamala, Ramana Reddy, and Relangi in supporting roles, with D. Balasubramaniam, R. Balasubramaniam, V. M. Ezhumalai, and K. A. Thangavelu playing those parts in the Tamil version.

Jayakrishna was an Indian film producer known for his works in Telugu cinema and few Tamil films. He produced films such as Mana Voori Pandavulu 1978, which won the Filmfare Award for Best Film – Telugu for that year. Jandhyala Veera Venkata Durga Siva Subrahmanya Sastry was an Indian screenwriter, director and actor known for his works in Telugu cinema. In a film career spanning twenty four years, he garnered four state Nandi Awards and the Filmfare Award. Fondly called Haasya Brahma, Jandhyala also wrote dialogue for National Award winning works such as Sankarabharanam (1980), Saptapadi (1981), Seethakoka Chiluka (1981), Sagara Sangamam (1983), and Swathi Kiranam (1992). He received the Nandi Award for Best Dialogue Writer for Aapadbandhavudu (1992).

Vijay C. Kumar is an Indian cinematographer, who works in the Telugu cinema. He won the Nandi Award for Best Cinematographer for the film Godavari (2006). He is the son of cinematographer C. Nageshwara Rao. Vijay Kumar's work is most noted for innovative use of lighting, subject specific visualization, use of natural colors on screen, Tele-focus shots, balancing the depth of focus between the subject and objects and many more techniques. Some of his films in Telugu cinema are Vivaha Bhojanambu, Ammoru, Agraham, Dollar Dreams, Anand and Happy Days.
