    Uruguayan rock first emerged in Uruguay in the 1950s. The real breakthrough for rock in Uruguay, however, as in much of the world, came with the arrival of The Beatles in the early 1960s.     Los Bukis are a Mexican Grupera band from Ario de Rosales, Michoacán. In 1975 the band was founded by cousins Marco Antonio Solís and Joel Solís. Their first song was Falso Amor and its style became popular in all of Latin America. Marco Antonio wrote the songs; the album "Me Volvi A Acordar De Ti" in the year of 1987 sold one million records in just a few weeks after its launch earning the album "diamond" status. A prize that only big-time artists at that time like The Beatles and Michael Jackson had achieved.

    "Hasta Que Te Conocí" is a song written, produced, and performed by Mexican singer-songwriter Juan Gabriel. It was released in 1986 as the third single from his studio album Pensamientos. In the song, the protagonist learns the meaning of suffering after meeting a lover who mistreats him. It peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot Latin Song chart. A live version of the song was included on his album En el Palacio de Bellas Artes (1990) which peaked at number ten on the Hot Latin Songs chart.

    Los Fabulosos Cadillacs is an Argentine ska band from Buenos Aires.

    Kairo was a Mexican pop vocal group established in 1993 as a trio made up of Paul Forat, Francisco Zorrilla and Eduardo Verástegui, a future actor. As members left, starting with Verástegui in 1996, they were replaced with others like Gabriel Soto and Roberto Assad, who both joined in 1997, and Paulo César Quevedo in 1998. The band folded in 1999.
