Vogrie Country Park in Scotland is managed by Midlothian Council. It consists of a woodland estate surrounding the Victorian Vogrie House.
It is located around 12 miles (19 km) from Edinburgh between Pathhead and Gorebridge.
Facilities in the parkland include a miniature railway, 9-hole golf course, children's play area and four miles of walks.
The park is the home to Vogrie Pogrie Festival, held annually mid September since 2021. [1] [2] [3]

They are members of the East of Scotland Football League and play their home matches at Ferguson Park. The club was founded in 1953 and initially competed in juvenile football before turning senior and joining the East of Scotland Football League in 1979. They are the most successful side in East of Scotland League history, winning a total of 16 titles prior to joining the Lowland League as one of its founder members in 2013.

Heriot is a small village in the Moorfoot Hills southeast of Edinburgh, Scotland, within Eildon. The village comprises some 150 dwellings, spread over a geographical area of around 50 square miles (130 km2), most of which is moorland. Connected to the rest of the world primarily through the A7 road, Heriot had a railway station from 1849 until the branch line closures instigated by Beeching caused the track to be uplifted in the 1960s. The Scottish Parliament voted, in 2006, to reinstate the railway, but without a station at Heriot.

Midlothian Country Club is a historic golf course in Midlothian, Illinois. It is located 18 miles (29 km) southwest of Chicago and built on 208 acres (84 ha) of land. It was designed by Herbert J. Tweedie and opened in 1898. In 2003 the course was updated by the Ken Killian, Richard P. Nugent and architect Bob Lohmann of Lohmann Golf Designs. In 2021-2022 the course was renovated by architect, Raymond Hearn to enhance 82 bunkers, lengthen tee boxes and many other enhancements which returned Midlothian Country Club to its championship caliber.

Cockpen is a parish in Midlothian, Scotland, containing at its north-west corner the town of Bonnyrigg, which lies two miles (3.2 km) south-west of Dalkeith. It is bounded on the west and north by the parish of Lasswade, on the east, by Newbattle and on the south by Carrington. It extends about three miles (4.8 km) from north to south and its greatest breadth is about 2+1⁄2 miles (4.0 km).
Eight Mile Burn is a small settlement in Midlothian, South East Scotland, at the base of Pentland Hills Regional Park. It is approximately 11 miles from the centre of Edinburgh, midway between Silverburn and Nine Mile Burn on the A702.
Millerhill Recycling and Energy Recovery Centre is a recycling and waste incineration facility at Millerhill in Midlothian, near Edinburgh in Scotland. It was built on part of the site of the Millerhill Marshalling Yard; construction began in October 2016 and the plant opened fully in September 2019. Commissioned by the City of Edinburgh Council and Midlothian Council, the plant cost £142 million and will divert 155,000 tons of waste a year from going to landfill. It burns treated waste to generate electricity which is fed into the National Grid. The plant uses combustion and XeroSorp flue gas treatment from Hitachi Zosen Inova. This is a dry adsorption system which uses sodium bicarbonate to clean the exhaust.
