Volcano was released in 2004. The album was released as a limited edition on Skunk Records and as of 2022 [update] has not been reprinted.
Trouser Press, which gave the eponymous album by Eyes Adrift a favorable review, said that Volcano was even better. They noted the "simple rough-in-the-studio mix", the reggae feel of Poutney's basslines, and the "high lonesome" feeling conjured by Kirkwood's "unfettered vocals". They wrote:
"Twisted Seeds" is a high point in Kirkwood's career – with its Jerry Garcia influence and overlapping verses, it's nothing you'd find on a Meat Puppets album. "Arrow" features pseudo-pedal steel and Latin guitar with stylings that echo the era of Meat Puppets II. [1]
Punknews.org said that the reggae- and country-influenced songs were some of the best, and called the album "one of the best of the post-Sublime era" and a "truly unique collaboration and a solid collection of songs". [2]

Meat Puppets are an American rock band formed in January 1980 in Phoenix, Arizona. The group's original lineup was Curt Kirkwood (guitar/vocals), his brother Cris Kirkwood, and Derrick Bostrom (drums). The Kirkwood brothers met Bostrom while attending Brophy Prep High School in Phoenix. The three then moved to Tempe, Arizona, where the Kirkwood brothers purchased two adjacent houses, one of which had a shed in the back where they regularly practiced.
The Long Beach Dub Allstars are an American dub/ska/reggae rock band formed in 1997 and disbanded in 2002, but reformed 10 years later.
Eyes Adrift was a three-piece rock supergroup consisting of Krist Novoselic, Curt Kirkwood, and Bud Gaugh. They released a self-titled album in 2002, which was a mixture of punk, grunge, and country, taking all of their previous backgrounds and putting them together. They toured the United States in mid-2002. They later broke up in 2003, after their debut album flopped. Kirkwood and Gaugh went on to form the supergroup band known as Volcano. The album is currently out of print. Novoselic went on to record songs with Foo Fighters and become a political activist in Seattle, Washington, before forming Giants in the Trees.
"Lake of Fire" is a song by the American alternative rock band the Meat Puppets, written by vocalist and guitarist, Curt Kirkwood. It appears on their second album, Meat Puppets II, released in April 1984. An alternate version appeared as a hidden track on their 1994 album, Too High to Die.
