The African Qualification Tournament for the 2020 Men's Olympic Volleyball Tournament was a volleyball tournament for men's national teams held in Cairo, Egypt from 7 to 11 January 2020. 5 teams played in the tournament and the winners Tunisia qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics. [1]

Qualification

Seven CAVB national teams which had not yet qualified to the 2020 Summer Olympics entered qualification. [2] But, Botswana and Niger later withdrew. [1] In addition, Ghana were disqualified for not arriving in Cairo until just before the beginning of the tournament. All of Ghana's matches were forfeited and Ghana were ranked in last place in the final standing.

The remaining 22 places will be determined by a qualification process in which entrants from among the other teams from the five FIVB confederations will compete.

The CAVB qualification for the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship saw member nations compete for three places at the finals in Italy and Bulgaria.

The CAVB qualification for the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship was a competition for two places at the finals in Japan.

The top two teams, who had registered with FIVB for the 2018 World Championship, qualify to represent Africa in the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship.

Top three teams which had registered for the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship qualified for the 2018 World Championship.

The final tournament was held in Belgium and Netherlands, making it the first time that the tournament was jointly hosted by more than one country.

The 2020 African Volleyball Championship U21 was held in Cairo, Egypt from 20 to 24 February 2021. The top two teams of the tournament qualified for the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Men's U21 World Championship.

The 2020 African Volleyball Championship U19 was held in Abuja, Nigeria from 4 to 8 March 2021. The top two teams of the tournament qualified for the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Boys' U19 World Championship.

The tournament is held in Kigali, Rwanda from 12 to 20 September 2021. The top two teams of the tournament will qualify for the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship as the CAVB representatives.
