Voorburg is a town and former municipality in the west part of the province of South Holland, Netherlands. Together with Leidschendam and Stompwijk, it makes up the municipality Leidschendam-Voorburg. It has a population of about 39,000 people. It is considered to be the oldest city in The Netherlands and celebrated its 2000th year of existence in 1988. However in Holland the status of 'city' normally commenced with the bestowing of a 'city charter' by its sovereign leader(s) and none available is that old. Human occupation has certainly been established as occurring two millennia ago, where Voorburg is located now. In 2002, the cities of Leidschendam and Voorburg were merged under the new municipality named "Leidschendam-Voorburg". Situated adjacent to the city of The Hague, it is often regarded as one of its suburbs.
The Netherlands women's national cricket team nicknamed the Lionesses, represents the Netherlands in international women's cricket. The team is organised by the Royal Dutch Cricket Association, which has been an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 1966.

Wesley Barresi is a South African-born Dutch cricketer. He has represented the Netherlands national cricket team since 2009, playing as a right-handed top-order batsman and occasional wicket-keeper. He was part of the Netherlands team that played in the 2011 and 2023 Cricket World Cups.
Sportpark Het Schootsveld is a cricket ground in Deventer, the Netherlands. The first recorded match held on the ground came in 1975 when Dansk XL Club played The Forty Club. The ground later held four ICC Trophy matches in the 1990. The ground held its first List A match in 1999 when the Netherlands played Cambridgeshire in the NatWest Trophy. Two further List A matches have been played there, both in the 2011 Clydesdale Bank 40 when the Netherlands played Middlesex and Derbyshire. The ground held its first first-class match in 2004 when the Netherlands hosted Ireland in the ICC Intercontinental Cup. Two further first-class matches have been held there, one in the 2009–10 Intercontinental Cup when Scotland were the visitors, and another in the 2011–13 Intercontinental Cup which saw Kenya as the visitors.
Sportpark Maarschalkerweerd is a cricket ground in Utrecht, Netherlands. The first recorded cricket match on the ground came in 1967 when the Netherlands Women's Cricket Board XI played the Women's Cricket Association. The ground is also used by Kampong Cricket Club.
Sportpark Thurlede is a cricket ground in Schiedam, Netherlands. The first recorded match on the ground was played in 1996 when the Netherlands played Somerset in a friendly. The ground later held a single Women's One Day International in 2003 between Scotland Women played West Indies Women in the IWCC Trophy.
Sportpark Westvliet is a multi-sports park in Voorburg, Netherlands. Among others, it contains the grounds of VV Wilhelmus, Voorburgse Rugby Club and the Voorburg Cricket Club.
The 2015 ICC Europe Division One was a cricket tournament held in Jersey from 9–13 May 2015. The tournament was organised by ICC Europe, and featured the top six associate members in that region – Denmark, France, Guernsey, Italy, Jersey, and Norway. Ireland, the Netherlands, and Scotland had already qualified for the World Twenty20 Qualifier, while England qualify for the World Twenty20 automatically.

Scott Andrew Edwards is an Australian-Dutch cricketer who represents the Netherlands. He made his first-class debut for the Netherlands against Namibia in the 2015–17 ICC Intercontinental Cup on 29 November 2017. He made his List A debut against Namibia in the 2015–17 ICC World Cricket League Championship on 8 December 2017. In June 2022, Edwards was named as the new captain of the Dutch cricket team, after Pieter Seelaar was forced to retire from international cricket due to a long-term back injury. Edwards is the Netherlands' seventh ODI captain.
2018 MCC Tri-nation series was a cricket tournament that was held on 29 July 2018 at Lord's in England. The series featured Nepal, Netherlands and Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), with the matches played as Twenty20 fixtures. The third fixture, between Nepal and the Netherlands, was given full Twenty20 International (T20I) status by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
The Nepalese cricket team toured the Netherlands in August 2018 to play two One Day Internationals (ODIs) matches against the Dutch cricket team. They were the first ODI matches to be played by Nepal since they were awarded ODI status by the International Cricket Council (ICC) during the 2018 Cricket World Cup Qualifier. It was the first ODI series to be played in the Netherlands since 2013, when South Africa played a one-off match, and the first ODI matches to be played by the Netherlands since the 2014 Cricket World Cup Qualifier tournament.
VSV TONEGIDO were a lower league club from the town of Voorburg, South Holland, Netherlands. The peak of the club's success was in 2002–03 when TONEGIDO won successive KNVB Amateur Cup's and the Dutch Amateur Super Cup. They went into administration during the 2009–10 season while they were playing in the Hoofdklasse and board eventually decided to disband the club after a vote among members.
The Namibia women's cricket team toured the Netherlands and Germany in June and July 2022 to play a five-match bilateral Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) series against the Netherlands and a three-match WT20I series against Germany. The first three matches in the Netherlands were originally scheduled to be played at Sportpark Harga in Schiedam, and the last two games of the series were scheduled to be played at Sportpark Westvliet in Voorburg. All three matches of the Germany series were played at the Bayer Uerdingen Cricket Ground, in Krefeld. The Netherlands won their series against Namibia 3–2, after several closely contested matches.
