The WDM Radio Awards is an award ceremony created in 2017 by Los 40 under their World Dance Music brand, billed as "the first radio awards to electronic music". It is meant to be a global event, promoted by the twelve Los 40 stations in Spain and Latin America. [1]

Los 40 radio station

Los 40 is a Top 40 musical radio network and radio station brand in many Spanish-speaking countries from Prisa Radio. The station has its origins as a music show at Radio Madrid, today Cadena SER in 1966, where the 40 Principales chart was born, then evolved into a standalone radio station in 1979. LOS40 is the number one music station in most of the regions it serves.

The first edition was held on March 29, 2017 at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, Mexico. [2]

Estadio Azteca Stadium in Mexico City

The Estadio Azteca is a multi purpose stadium located in Mexico City. It is the official home of football club Club América, and the Mexico national football team. The stadium sits at an altitude of 7,200 feet above sea level. With an official capacity of 87,523, it is the largest stadium in Mexico. As of 2018, the stadium also serves as the home of Cruz Azul. The National Football League (NFL) features one game at Estadio Azteca per season as a part of their International Series.

The Chainsmokers are an American DJ and production duo consisting of Alexander "Alex" Pall and Andrew "Drew" Taggart. They started out by releasing remixes of songs by indie artists. The EDM-pop duo achieved a breakthrough with their 2014 song "#Selfie", which became a top twenty single in several countries. They have won a Grammy award, two American Music Awards, seven Billboard Music Awards and nine iHeartRadio Music Awards. According to Forbes 2019 list of highest paid celebrities, The Chainsmokers were the highest paid DJs, dethroning Calvin Harris after six years.

Pierre David Guetta is a French DJ, music programmer, record producer and songwriter. He has sold over nine million albums and thirty million singles worldwide. In 2011, Guetta was voted as the number one DJ in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll. In 2013, Billboard crowned "When Love Takes Over" as the number one dance-pop collaboration of all time.

Don Diablo Dutch DJ and record producer

Don Pepijn Schipper, better known by his stage name Don Diablo, is a Dutch DJ, record producer, musician and songwriter of electronic dance music from Coevorden. He is known for his electronic style of production and vocalizing in most of his songs. He is one of the pioneers of the future house genre and was ranked seventh in the Top 100 DJs – 2018 list by DJ Mag. He was also ranked number one Producer of the Year by 1001Tracklists. In 2016, he was ranked the number one Future House Artist of the Year on Beatport.

Anton Zaslavski, known professionally as Zedd, is a Russian–German record producer, DJ and songwriter. He primarily produces and performs electro house music, but has diversified his genre and musical style, drawing influences from progressive house, dubstep, and classical music.

Steven Hiroyuki Aoki is an American musician, DJ, record producer and music executive. In 2012, Pollstar designated Aoki as the highest grossing dance artist in North America from tours. He has collaborated with artists such as will.i.am, Afrojack, LMFAO, Linkin Park, Iggy Azalea, Lil Jon, blink-182, Laidback Luke, BTS, Monsta X, Louis Tomlinson, Rise Against, Vini Vici, Lauren Jauregui, and Fall Out Boy and is known for his remixes of artists such as Kid Cudi. Aoki has released several Billboard-charting studio albums as well, notably Wonderland, which was nominated for Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronica Album in 2013. He is the founder of the Steve Aoki Charitable Fund, which raises money for global humanitarian relief organizations. In 2019, Aoki published a memoir, Blue: The Color of Noise.

Nervo (DJs) Australian musical duo

Nervo are an Australian DJ duo comprising twin sisters Olivia and Miriam Nervo. After signing with Sony/ATV Music Publishing at 18 years of age, the sisters pursued careers as songwriting partners and in 2008 they signed with Fredrik Olsson and his Swedish music publishing company Razor Boy Music Publishing, which led to co-writing the Grammy Award-winning single, "When Love Takes Over", performed by David Guetta and Kelly Rowland. Nervo have been described as the world's highest paid women DJs.

Martijn Gerard Garritsen, professionally known as Martin Garrix, is a Dutch DJ and record producer from Amstelveen. His most known singles are "Animals," "In the Name of Love," and "Scared to be Lonely." He was ranked number one on DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs list for three consecutive years.

Thomas Wesley Pentz, known professionally as Diplo, is an American DJ, songwriter, and record producer based in Los Angeles, California. He is the co-creator and lead member of the electronic dancehall music project Major Lazer, a member of the supergroup LSD with Sia and Labrinth, a member of electronic duo Jack Ü with producer and DJ Skrillex, and a member of Silk City with Mark Ronson. He founded and manages record company Mad Decent, as well as co-founding the non-profit organization Heaps Decent. Among other jobs, he has worked as a school teacher in Philadelphia. His 2013 EP, Revolution, debuted at number 68 on the US Billboard 200. The EP's title track was later featured in a commercial for Hyundai and is featured on the WWE 2K16 soundtrack.

Sonny John Moore, known professionally as Skrillex, is an American record producer, DJ, musician, singer and songwriter. Growing up in Northeast Los Angeles and in Northern California, he joined the American post-hardcore band From First to Last as the lead singer in 2004, and recorded two studio albums with the band before leaving to pursue a solo career in 2007. He began his first tour as a solo artist in late 2007. After recruiting a new band lineup, Moore joined the Alternative Press Tour to support bands such as All Time Low and The Rocket Summer, and appeared on the cover of Alternative Press' annual "100 Bands You Need to Know" issue.

Calvin Harris Scottish DJ, singer, songwriter, and record producer

Adam Richard Wiles, known professionally as Calvin Harris, is a Scottish DJ, record producer, singer, and songwriter. He is known for his singles "We Found Love", "This Is What You Came For", "Summer", "Feel So Close", and "Feels". His collaboration with Rihanna, "We Found Love", became an international success, giving Harris his first number one single on the US Billboard Hot 100. He has released five studio albums and runs his own record label, Fly Eye Records, which he founded in 2010.

Spring Awakening Music Festival (SAMF) is an annual electronic dance music (EDM) festival held in Chicago. The festival started at a theater in 2008, moved to Soldier Field in 2012–2015, and to Addams/Medill Park in 2016-2018. The project was founded in 2013 and are active mainly in the genres of progressive house and big room house. Although the project's anonymity has been revealed in mid-2014, the musicians were asking to be judged only by their music, not faces.

Sun City Music Festival is an annual electronic music festival held over Labor Day weekend in El Paso at Ascarate Park. In its opening year, the festival was held at Cohen Stadium. The festival represents all genres of electronic music, bringing top international DJs and live acts from multiple countries along with local producers and radio personalities to three stages, one of them being the Beatport Stage. The festival was founded by SMG Events and Disco Donnie Presents. Throughout the years, many El Pasoans had believed the festival was coming to an end due to SMG not announcing news about the festival early as they had done in previous years, however in January 2018, Disco Donnie had announced on Twitter that "SCMF Lives on.. let's not get too dramatic" due to one of the DDP festivals would not be held in 2018, but this can assure everyone that Sun City will most likely continue on. However, on May 9, 2018, it was announced through the Sun City Music Festival Twitter account, that the festival would not be happening.

Untold Festival is the largest electronic music festival held in Romania, taking place in Cluj-Napoca at the Cluj Arena. It's held annually and has been designated Best Major Festival within European Festival Awards 2015. Guests include a vast range of European countries, as well as Asia and North America.

Ultra Korea Electronic music festival in Seoul

Ultra Korea is an outdoor electronic music festival that is a part of Ultra Music Festival's worldwide expansion, which has now spread to twenty countries. Following Ultra Brasil's third edition in 2011, Ultra Korea made its debut as a two-day festival in August 2012 and took place at the Olympic Stadium in Seoul, Korea. The most recent edition of Ultra Korea took place during 8–10 June 2018 at Seoul's Olympic Stadium. Ultra Korea is strictly a festival for those ages 19 and over. The next edition of Ultra Korea will take place during 7–9 June 2019 at the Olympic Stadium in Seoul.

2017 MTV Europe Music Awards music award

The 2017 MTV EMAs were held at The SSE Arena in Wembley, London, United Kingdom, on 12 November 2017. The host of the ceremony was Rita Ora, with voiceovers provided by Capital FM DJ Roman Kemp. This was the sixth time that the UK has hosted the awards show, and the second time London has been the host city. London first hosted the awards ceremony in 1996 at Alexandra Palace. The ceremony was directed for television by British award-winning multi camera director Hamish Hamilton.

VELD Music Festival

VELD Music Festival is an annual electronic dance music and hip-hop music festival held at Downsview Park in Toronto, Ontario. Since its inception in 2012, the festival attracts crowds numbering in the tens of thousands and notable acts including Martin Garrix, Armin van Buuren, Hardwell, Steve Aoki, and Tiesto. The Toronto-native Deadmau5 used to be a first-day headliner for multiple years of the festival.
