Wade Christensen is an American attorney who served as the first, and only, First Gentleman of Oklahoma between 2011 and 2019.

Early life and career

Wade Christensen was born in El Reno, Oklahoma, to James Christensen and Clairce Jo. His parents were teachers and farmers. He earned his bachelor's degree from Oklahoma State University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Tulsa College of Law. He worked as an attorney focused on banking, oil and gas, and real estate. [1] He married Mary Fallin on November 21, 2009. David B. Hooten played their wedding reception. [2]

First Gentleman

Christensen was the first, and only, First Gentleman of Oklahoma between 2011 and 2019. He received permission from the state to work for the University of Oklahoma and state worker's compensation agency during his tenure. [3]

The race had been hotly contested by both political parties, with several well-known Oklahomans announcing their candidacy up to two years before the election. This was the first time a woman challenged another woman for Governor of Oklahoma.

Gary Sherrer is an American Democratic politician from Oklahoma. Sherrer served two terms as Oklahoma Secretary of the Environment under Republican Governors Frank Keating (1995-1997) and Mary Fallin (2011-2013). Sherrer also served as Oklahoma Secretary of Agriculture under Democratic Governor David Walters from 1989 to 1995.

James Lee Reese is a farmer, businessman and politician from the U.S. state of Oklahoma. Appointed by Republican Governor Mary Fallin as Oklahoma Secretary of Agriculture, Reese was sworn into office on January 10, 2011. He also acted as Fallin's chief advisor on policy development and implementation related to agriculture, food, and forestry. Reese serves concurrently in Oklahoma City as the commissioner of the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture.

Alex Pettit is an American public administration official who is currently Chief Technology Officer for the State of Colorado Governor's Office of Information Technology. Pettit was formerly the chief information officer for the State of Oregon. As State CIO, Pettit worked in the Department of Administrative Services and was responsible for all information and telecommunication systems for all state agencies. The Ten Commandments Monument, authorized by the Oklahoma legislature and approved by the governor in 2009, was installed on the grounds of the Oklahoma State Capitol, in Oklahoma City, in 2012. The mere concept engendered years of political controversy, court suits based on freedom of religion issues, destruction in 2014 by a man who drove his car into it, replacement in the same location, and even attempts to remove Supreme Court justices who ruled in 2014 that the monument must be removed to another site. After Governor Mary Fallin, key legislators, and the justices agreed on a substitute site, the monument was removed from the capitol grounds in 2015.

Dana Lynn Kuehn is an American attorney and judge from Tulsa, Oklahoma who has served on the Supreme Court of Oklahoma since 2021; she was appointed by Governor Kevin Stitt on July 26, 2021. Kuehn had previously been a Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals Judge after her appointment by the Governor of Oklahoma Mary Fallin on October 2, 2017. Kuehn is the first woman to serve on both of the state's high courts, the Oklahoma Supreme Court and the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals.
