Walter Posadowski (born c. 1937) is a former Canadian Football League coach who served as the head coach of the Saskatchewan Roughriders during the 1978 season.

Playing career

Posadowski played at Villanova University from 1957 to 1959.

Coaching career

Posadowski's coaching career began at Bishop McDevitt High School, where he compiled a 17-15-5 in four season as head football coach. [1] He spent two seasons as a part-time assistant at Villanova before becoming the Wildcats offensive line coach in 1969. [2] Posadowski spent one season (1976) as an assistant at Idaho State University. [3]

Posadowski joined the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 1977 as offensive line coach. After a 0–5 start to the 1978 season, head coach Jim Eddy was fired and Posadowski was named head coach. [4] The Roughriders finished the season 4-11-1 and Posadowski was replaced by retiring quarterback Ron Lancaster. [5]

Following Lancaster's hiring, Posadowski was moved from the head coaching position to director of scouting and recruiting. [5] Posadowski's final coaching position was as an assistant with the Calgary Stampeders. [6]

The 2008 Saskatchewan Roughriders finished in 2nd place in the West Division with a 12–6 record for the second consecutive year. It was their 51st season in the Canadian Football League. The Roughriders attempted to repeat as Grey Cup champions, but, due to an abundance of injuries, lost to the BC Lions in the West Semi-Final game.

Ken Miller is currently an offensive consultant for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League. He previously served in the league as head coach and vice president of football operations for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He served as the Roughriders head coach between 2008 and 2010, leading the team to appearances in the Grey Cup in 2009 and 2010. Miller returned as head coach of the Roughriders on August 19, 2011, after the firing of Greg Marshall after a 1–7 start to the 2011 CFL season. Miller was the club's offensive coordinator under head coach Kent Austin when they captured the 95th Grey Cup in 2007. He had previously served on the coaching staffs of the Toronto Argonauts, University of Redlands, Dickinson State, and Yucaipa High School.

Chris Jones is the head coach and general manager of the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was previously the head coach and general manager of the Saskatchewan Roughriders for three seasons, after serving as the head coach of the Edmonton Eskimos for two seasons. Jones previously served as the defensive coordinator for the Montreal Alouettes, Calgary Stampeders and Toronto Argonauts before becoming a head coach. Jones won four Grey Cup rings with four teams between 2002 and 2015.
