Walter Kulasooriya is a Sri Lankan painter and former curator of the Visiki Art Gallery[ where? ].
Walter Kulasooriya was born on 11 April 1945, in the fishing village of Demataluwa, Sri Lanka. He studied at the College of Fine Arts in Colombo under artists such as Stanley Abeysinghe, David Paynter, S.P. Charles, Henry Dharmasena and Gunasiri Kolambage.

In addition to holding shows in his native Sri Lanka, Walter Kulasooriya has conducted successful exhibitions in the United States, Germany, Austria, Australia, and England, among other places. [1]
Kulasooriya is a survivor of the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake. He and his wife narrowly escaped with their lives, holding on to a wooden pillar on the roof to keep above the waves. His paintings, however, along with the Visiki Art Gallery, were washed away.
He was a victim of looting in the aftermath of the disaster. His computer and several other items were stolen when his house was robbed.
Walter Kulasooriya is currently seeking the means to rebuild the Visiki Art Gallery. [2] With it, he hopes to introduce the craft of painting to people whose livelihood may have been devastated by the tsunami. Trained as professional painters, they can regain economic independence lost with the collapse of local trade.
Walter Kulasooriya works in classical, native, and modern styles. He does not identify with a particular school of painting. [1]
Perhaps Kulasooriya's most significant stylistic innovation is his Earth Color paintings. Composed with colors mixed with his own hand, using the same recipes as those employed by the painters of the Sigiriya frescoes, these works are a modern attempt to synchronize with nature. [3]
Kulasooriya gained international attention for his 100-metre painting of the Sinharaja Forest Reserve which, in 1996, was judged to be the longest painting in the world. It can be viewed at the Deer Park Hotel in Giritale. [2]

Stanley Greaves is a Guyanese painter and writer who is one of the Caribbean's most distinguished artists. Writing in 1995 at the time of a retrospective exhibition to celebrate Greaves's 60th birthday, Rupert Roopnarine stated: "It may be that no major Caribbean artist of our time has been more fecund and versatile than Stanley Greaves of Guyana." Greaves himself has said of his own creativity:
I still don't talk about myself as making art! Other people do that. I am a maker of things. In the early days, I found empty matchboxes, cigarette boxes, bits of string, wire, empty boot-polish tins, whatever, and made things. Drawing was just another activity, and it still is. My favorite medium is still wood, of course. My hitherto secret preoccupation with writing poems, which has now come to light, is another form of making. Recently at the University of Birmingham, where I did a reading, I was asked if the paintings influenced the poetry, and I said, "No, they come from the same source."

University of the Visual and Performing Arts (UVPA) is a public university located primarily in Colombo, Sri Lanka, specialising in art, design, fashion and the performing arts. It was formerly known as the Government College of Fine Arts, Heywood Institute of Art and the Institute of Aesthetic Studies of the University of Ceylon. It has no known date of foundation, but there is evidence of teaching as far back as 1893. It is the only university in Sri Lanka to exclusively offer special degree programs in visual and performing arts.

The Cabinet Office is a department of the Government of Sri Lanka responsible for supporting the Cabinet of Sri Lanka in its policy formulation process. The department was formed in 1947 when the first cabinet of the Dominion of Ceylon was formed, headed by The Rt Hon D.S. Senanayake, first Prime Minister of Ceylon. It was located at the Republic Building, Colombo until moved to Lloyd's Building in 2022. The head of the Cabinet Office is the Cabinet Secretary.
D. Raja Segar known as Segar, is a Sri Lankan artist and sculptor. He primarily does figure painting, with an interest in religious figures, such as Buddha and Ganesha, and everyday South Asian life. He describes his style as "refractive".
Sachini Ayendra Stanley, is a Sri Lankan actress and beauty pageant titleholder. She won Miss World Sri Lanka 2003 and represented her country at Miss World 2003. She currently working in the Sinhala film industry, her first film Aadaraneeya Wassaanaya directed by Senesh Dissanaike Bandara was released in 2004. She won the award for best supporting actress at Signis Sri Lanka Film Awards for her performance.
Marino Tartaglia was a Croatian painter and art teacher, for many years a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts, Zagreb.

Biren De (1926–2011) was an Indian painter of modern art, known for his paintings with tantric influences. Walter Elmer Schofield was an American Impressionist landscape and marine painter. Although he never lived in New Hope or Bucks County, Schofield is regarded as one of the Pennsylvania Impressionists.
Abdur Razzaque (1932–2005) was a Bangladeshi artist. He is known as one of the significant artists of newly founded East Pakistan in the 1950s and studied at the Art College along with other pioneers from that time including Murtaja Baseer, Rashid Chowdhury, Qayyum Chowdhury, Humayun Kabir, Zunabul Islam, Ekramul Huq, Emdad Hossain and others. His art style is considered to be very versatile due to his usage and practice using three different mediums: sculpting, painting, and printmaking.
The GROUP 1890 exhibition was held from 20 to 29 October 1963 at Lalit Kala Akademi, Rabindra Bhavan in New Delhi, India. It was the only exhibition of the artist collective 'group 1890', hence the only existing record of the group's exhibition history in the 1960s contemporary art in India. The group was an entirely male association with 12 members which 'stood passionately and romantically for values of modernism that signaled change'. The members were Raghav Kaneria, M. Reddeppa Naidu, Ambadas Khobragade, Rajesh Mehra, Gulam Mohammed Sheikh, Jagdish Swaminathan, Himmat Shah, Jeram Patel, S. G. Nikam, Eric Bowen, Jyoti Bhatt, and Balkrishna Patel. All of which participated in this inaugural exhibition.
Nyein Chan Su, known as NCS is a Burmese painter. He showcases works inspired by nats, the spirits worshipped in central Burma alongside Buddhism. His paintings are eclectic and versatile. He is a co-founder of an artist-run space, Studio Square Art Gallery.

Cavaliere (OMRI) Tilake Abeysinghe, better known as Tilake, was an internationally reputed Sri Lankan painter and sculptor. Using traditional media such as oil on canvas and water colours, and sculpting in bronze, cement, clay and plaster-of-paris, Tilake fused oriental ethos with western sensuality in his art pieces. Tilake created abstract, semi-abstract and feminine form inspired paintings and sculptures.
