The Oklahoma State Penitentiary, nicknamed "Big Mac", is a prison of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections located in McAlester, Oklahoma, on 1,556 acres (6.30 km2). Opened in 1908 with 50 inmates in makeshift facilities, today the prison holds more than 750 male offenders, the vast majority of which are maximum-security inmates.
The Old Idaho Penitentiary State Historic Site was a functional prison from 1872 to 1973 in the western United States, east of Boise, Idaho. The first building, also known as the Territorial Prison, was constructed in the Territory of Idaho in 1870; the territory was seven years old when the prison was built, a full two decades before statehood.
The Cherokee National Capitol, now the Cherokee Nation Courthouse, is a historic tribal government building in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Completed in 1869, it served as the capitol building of the Cherokee Nation from 1869 to 1907, when Oklahoma became a state. It now serves as the site of the tribal supreme court and judicial branch. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1961 for its role in the Nation's history.
Sequoyah's Cabin is a log cabin and historic site off Oklahoma State Highway 101 near Akins, Oklahoma. It was the home between 1829 and 1844 of the Cherokee Indian Sequoyah, who in 1821 created a written language for the Cherokee Nation. The cabin and surrounding park, now owned by the Cherokee Nation, was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1965.
The Railway Exchange Building in Muskogee, Oklahoma is one of five skyscraper buildings, ranging from five to ten stories tall, built before 1912 and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Pre-Depression Muskogee Skyscrapers Thematic Resources study. The others are:

Boyd House, also known as the President's House and the OU White House, is the official residence of the president of the University of Oklahoma. The university's president, currently Joseph Harroz, Jr., lives in Boyd House as a primary residence free of charge. In 1976, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as "President's House, University of Oklahoma".

The Wyoming Territorial Prison is a former federal government prison near Laramie, Wyoming. Built in 1872, it is one of the oldest buildings in Wyoming. It operated as a federal penitentiary from 1872 to 1890, and as a state prison from 1890 to 1901. It was then transferred to the University of Wyoming and was used as an agricultural experiment station until 1989. In 1991, the facility was opened to the public, and in 2004, it was designated as Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site.
The El Reno Municipal Swimming Pool Bath House is a bath house in El Reno, Oklahoma. Built in 1935, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000. It is one of two Mission/Spanish Revival structures in El Reno.
The Meloy House is a single-story wood-frame residential structure located in Mustang, Oklahoma. The house was built sometime around 1902 and is located one block from the original downtown center of the city. It is the only remaining structure from the founding of Mustang that has historical integrity.
Missouri State Penitentiary Warden's House, also known as the Missouri State Penitentiary Director's House, is a historic home located at Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri. It was built in 1888 and updated by architect Morris Frederick Bell in 1907 in the Queen Anne style. It is a two-story, frame dwelling and sits on a rough limestone block foundation. It features a rounded tower and two front porches.
Capitol Avenue Historic District is a national historic district located at Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri. It encompasses 107 contributing buildings in a predominantly residential section of Jefferson City. The district developed between about 1870 and 1947, and includes representative examples of Classical Revival, Late Victorian, Bungalow / American Craftsman, and Art Deco style architecture. Located in the district are the separately listed Lester S. and Missouri "Zue" Gordon Parker House, Jefferson Female Seminary, Missouri State Penitentiary Warden's House, and Ivy Terrace. Other notable buildings include the Parsons House (1830), former Missouri Baptist Building (1947), Grace Episcopal Church (1898), Elizabeth Alien Ewing House (1873), James A. Houchin House, J. Henry Asel, Sr. and Hilda Asel House (1898), Dix Apartments (1915), W.C. Young House, Bella Vista Apartments (1928), and Prince Edward Apartments (1930).
