The Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) Boy's lacrosse league in the US began crowning a champion in 1987. The league comprises ten [1] teams from Catholic high schools of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Arlington. The schools are all located in the Washington metropolitan area. Only three teams have won multiple championships since the league's inception - DeMatha Catholic High School (17), Gonzaga College High School (14) and St. John's College High School (3).

The Interstate Athletic Conference is an all-boys high school sports league made up of six private high schools in the Washington, D.C., area, competing in twelve varsity sports: baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, ice hockey, lacrosse, soccer, swimming and diving, tennis, track and field, and wrestling. The IAC is widely regarded as one of the most competitive and talent-deep lacrosse leagues in the nation. Some schools in the IAC are co-ed, so they do not have as many boys to participate in athletics as some schools in the MAC and WCAC. For example, Gonzaga College High School (WCAC), have over 900 boys enrolled at the school while Episcopal High School (IAC) only has 435 boys and girls combined. Although this is true, the IAC is seen as on par with or surpassing the WCAC and the MAC and more competitive than the PVAC, the other private high school sports conferences in the Washington, D.C. area. The IAC is also known for its academics as it boasts 3 of the most elite boarding schools in the country.
Seton School is an accredited, private, co-educational Catholic junior & senior high school located in Manassas, Virginia founded in 1973 by Anne Carroll, wife of Dr. Warren Carroll. According to its website, Seton teaches orthodox, traditional Catholicism in harmony with the Magisterium of the Catholic Church and its leader, Pope Francis. Its mission statement emphasizes Catholicism in the classroom as well as the importance of discipline. The 2013 Ivy League men's lacrosse tournament took place May 3 to May 5 at Schoellkopf Field in Ithaca, New York. The winner of the tournament received the Ivy League 's automatic bid to the 2013 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship. Four teams from the Ivy League conference competed in the single elimination tournament. The seeds were based upon the teams' regular season conference record.
