The 2012 Men's European Water Polo Championship took place at the Pieter van den Hoogenband Swim Stadium in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, from 16 to 29 January 2012.
Ioannis Fountoulis is a Greek water polo player. He is currently the captain of Greece men's national water polo team, with whom he won a bronze medal at the 2015 World Championships, a bronze medal at the 2016 World League, 2020 World League and competed at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics. He played for the Greek powerhouse Olympiacos since 2009, and in 2018 he won the 2017–18 LEN Champions League with the Greek giants, scoring 4 goals in the final game against Pro Recco in Genoa. Is a very big scorer and leader is considered one of the top players in the world and it is typical how in 2016 and 2018 he was voted as the second top player in the world. Currently playing for the Greek club Olympiacos.
The water polo tournaments at the 2015 European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan were held at the Baku Aquatics Centre in the Baku Games Cluster from 12 to 21 June 2015. 16 teams competed in the men's tournament and 12 teams in the women's tournament.

She has won gold, silver and bronze medals in World and European competitions with the Greece national junior water polo squads.
Michaela "Milva" Kalogerakou is a Greek female water polo player. She played for Olympiacos, with whom she won the 2014–15 LEN Euro League Women and the 2014 Women's LEN Trophy. She was part of the Greece women's team winning the bronze medal at the 2015 European Games in Baku. She started competing in water polo in 2013.
Vasiliki "Vaso" Plevritou is a Greek female water polo player. She plays for Olympiacos in Greece. She was a part of the team winning the 2015 Women's LEN Super Cup. She was part of the Greece national team winning the bronze medal at the 2015 European Games. She started competing in water polo in 2008.
Adamantia Doureka is a Greek water polo player. She played for Olympiacos in Greece. She was part of the Greece women's team winning the bronze medal at the 2015 European Games in Baku.
