Basketball events at the 1976 Summer Olympics was the ninth appearance of the sport of basketball as an official Olympic medal event. It took place from July 18 to July 27 at the Centre Étienne Desmarteau and the Montreal Forum in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Women's basketball was introduced to the Olympic program for the first time at this Games. The United States won the gold against Yugoslavia in the men's tournament, while the Soviet Union won the gold medal against the United States in the women's competition.
Spain was the host nation for the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. The Games were quite exceptional for Spain because their athletes were competing not only in their home country, but also in the home city of IOC President Juan Antonio Samaranch. 422 competitors, 297 men and 125 women, took part in 195 events in 29 sports.
Basketball at the 1984 Summer Olympics was the eleventh appearance of the sport of basketball as an official Olympic medal event. It took place at The Forum in Inglewood, California, United States from July 29 to August 10. The United States won the gold medal in both events, with the women's team's victory marking their first-ever gold medal. Due to the boycott, the Soviet Union and Hungary withdrew from the tournament. The former, having already qualified for both events was replaced by West Germany in the men's competition, while both nations' women's teams were replaced by Australia and South Korea.
The men's épée was one of eight fencing events on the fencing at the 1964 Summer Olympics programme. It was the fourteenth appearance of the event. The competition was held from October 18 to 19 1964. 65 fencers from 25 nations competed. Each nation was limited to three fencers. The event was won by Grigory Kriss of the Soviet Union, the nation's first gold medal in the event after a bronze four years earlier. The Soviets also took bronze, with Guram Kostava finishing in third place. Between the two was silver medalist Bill Hoskyns of Great Britain; it was the second consecutive Games with a British silver medalist in the event. Italy's six-Games gold medal streak in the men's individual épée ended with the nation missing the podium entirely; Gianluigi Saccaro finished fourth after losing the bronze-medal barrage to Kostava.
Noemi Batki is a Hungarian-born Italian former diver. She was a member of the Italian National Diving Team at four Olympic Games and was a member of the sports section of the Italian Army, Centro Sportivo Esercito, and Triestina Nuoto.
The 2003 Women's World Water Polo Championship was the sixth edition of the women's water polo tournament at the World Aquatics Championships, organised by the world governing body in aquatics, the FINA. The tournament was held from 13 to 25 July 2003, and was incorporated into the 2003 World Aquatics Championships in Barcelona, Spain.
The Italy national water polo team represents Italy in men's international water polo competitions and is controlled by Federnuoto. The national men's team has the nickname of "Settebello", a reference to both the Italian card game scopa and a standard water polo team having seven players.
The Basketball competitions in the 1977 Summer Universiade were held in Sofia, Bulgaria. The United States beat the Soviet Union in the final in the men's tournament, but was beaten in the women's competition.
The United States competed at the 2011 Summer Universiade in Shenzhen, China.
The water polo at the 2019 Summer Universiade in Naples has been played between 2 and 14 July. 20 water polo teams participated in the tournament.
Denmark competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Games were postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Danish athletes have appeared in every edition of the Summer Olympic Games, with the exception of the 1904 Summer Olympics in St. Louis.
The 2019 FINA Women's Water Polo World League was the 16th edition of the annual women's international water polo tournament. It was played between November 2018 and June 2019 and open to all women's water polo national teams. After participating in a preliminary round, eight teams qualified to play in a final tournament, called the Super Final from 4–9 June 2019.
Artistic gymnastics was contested at the 2019 Summer Universiade from July 3 to 7, and rhythmic gymnastics was contested from July 11 to 13. Both events were held at the PalaVesuvio in Naples, Italy.
Damiano Rosatelli is an Italian fencer who won an individual gold medal at the 2019 Summer Universiade. He won a gold medal in team foil, at the 2018 European Fencing Under 23 Championships.
Camilla Mancini is an Italian fencer who won one gold medal and one bronze at the 2019 Summer Universiade.
Rebecca Gargano is an Italian fencer who won one gold medal at the 2019 Summer Universiade. She also won a silver at the 2015 European Games. She won one of the bronze medals in the women's individual sabre event at the 2022 Mediterranean Games held in Oran, Algeria.
Silvia Scalia is an Italian swimmer who won two medals at the 2019 Summer Universiade.
Men's water polo at the 2019 Summer Universiade was held in Caserta and Naples (Italy) from 2 to 14 July 2019.
Men's water polo at the 2021 Summer Universiade was held in XinduXiangcheng Sports Centre Natatorium and Modern Pentathlon Centre Swimming & Fencing Hall from 27 July to 8 August 2023. The dates of all events at the games were changed due to the COVID pandemic.
