Wayne Chaney Jr. is an American pastor, radio show host, and television personality. He is the senior pastor of the Antioch Church of Long Beach in Long Beach, California. [1] The church was founded by his grandfather. [2]

In October 2013, Chaney appeared on the Oxygen network show Preachers of L.A. , which followed various heads of churches through their personal and spiritual lives. [3] [4] He and Myesha Chaney are the co-hosts of the talk radio show Real Life with the Chaney's on Stevie Wonder's KJLH. [5]

He is the co-founder of the Long Beach Gospel Fest, which has over 20,000 attendees.[ citation needed ]

Personal life

Chaney is the grandson of Dr. T.M. Chambers Sr. and of Rev. Joe Chaney Jr. [6] He has three children.

He attended Morehouse College, Luther Rice College & Seminary, Fuller Seminary, Claremont School of Theology, and Duke Divinity School. [2]

Film and TV appearances

Chaney was featured on the Oxygen network series Preachers of L.A. According to The Christian Post , the Chaneys wanted to represent "a Godly marriage on television. [7] [8] A number of controversies arose around his affluent lifestyle and comments surrounding sexuality. [9] [10] [11]

Wyatt Tee Walker was an African-American pastor, national civil rights leader, theologian, and cultural historian. He was a chief of staff for Martin Luther King Jr., and in 1958 became an early board member of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC). He helped found a Congress for Racial Equality (CORE) chapter in 1958. As executive director of the SCLC from 1960 to 1964, Walker helped to bring the group to national prominence. Walker sat at the feet of his mentor, BG Crawley, who was a Baptist Minister in Brooklyn, NY and New York State Judge.

Preachers of L.A. chronicles the lives of three bishops and three pastors from their work within the church to their personal lives at home. The preachers are adherents of prosperity theology, an offshoot of Pentecostalism. The series also encompasses the spouses of the men.

Faithful Word Baptist Church is a New Independent Fundamentalist Baptist church in Tempe, Arizona, that was founded by Steven Anderson. The church describes itself as "an old-fashioned, independent, fundamental, King James Bible-only, soul-winning Baptist church." Members of the church meet in an office space that is located inside a strip mall. Anderson established the church in December 2005 and remains its pastor.
