Kun Khmer, or Pradal Serey, is a combat sport that originated in Cambodia. The sport consists of stand up striking and clinch fighting, where the objective is to knock an opponent out, force a technical knockout, or win a match by points. The sport was codified in Cambodia by the French colonial administration in the early 20th century, and was derived from centuries-old traditions, namely Bokator, the close-quarter combat system used during the Khmer empire. The official Khmer name of the sport is Kbach Kun Pradal Khmer.
The Southeast Asian Games, commonly known as SEA Games is a biennial multi-sport event involving participants from the current 11 countries of Southeast Asia. The games are under the regulation of the Southeast Asian Games Federation with supervision by the International Olympic Committee and the Olympic Council of Asia.
An Athletics competition was contested at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar from December 7 to December 12. Twenty-three events were contested for the men while 22 were on the slate for the women. Only the 3000 Meter Steeplechase was not contested for by the women. All track and field events were held at Khalifa International Stadium, and the racewalking and marathon took place at the Doha Corniche. A total of 530 athletes from 41 nations took part in the competition. Bhutan, Brunei, Indonesia and Myanmar were the only nations without a representative in the events.
The Swimming competition at the 2006 Asian Games took place December 2–7 at the Hamad Aquatic Centre in Doha, Qatar. It featured 38 events, all conducted in a long course (50m) pool.
The aquatics events at the 2007 SEA Games included swimming, diving and water polo. The events were held at the Aquatic Center, His Majesty the King's 80th Birthday Anniversary Stadium, Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand.
Cambodia, which is represented by the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC), competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London from 27 July to 12 August 2012. Six Cambodian athletes competed in the disciplines of track and field athletics, swimming, taekwondo, and judo.
The Cambodia national basketball team represents Cambodia in international basketball competitions and is managed by the Cambodian Basketball Federation (CBF). At the 2023 SEA Games, Cambodia had its best performance ever, which has been the subject of controversy due to their inclusion of multiple naturalized players on their roster.
The 2023 Southeast Asian Games, also known as the 32nd Southeast Asian Games, or the 32nd SEA Games, and commonly known as Cambodia 2023, was the 32nd edition of the Southeast Asian Games, a biennial sports multi-sport event which was held from 5 to 17 May 2023 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
The cycling competitions at the 2017 SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur took place at Nilai and Putrajaya.
Esports was introduced as one of the main medal events in the Southeast Asian Games during the 2019 edition held in the Philippines. Since 2019, Esports has become one of the main events during the biennial event due to the level of competition between opposing teams and the selection of games during the main event.
Miss Grand Cambodia is an annual female beauty pageant in Cambodia, founded in 2015 by BKA Entertainment chaired by a Thai businessperson in Cambodia Boonkerd Ang-amnuaysiri, the finalists of the contest have been sent to participate in various international contests including its parent stage, Miss Grand International. In 2020, The pageant patent was transferred to a Phnom Penh-based event organizer managed by Sophin In,Mohahang Production, and then to a cosmetics and dietary supplement retailer, HK 7 Co., Ltd., headed by Sokunthea Im, in 2023.
Obstacle race competitions at the 2023 SEA Games were held at the Chroy Changvar Convention Centre from 3 May to 6 May 2023 and the game featured 4 events. The Philippines won gold in all events.
Arnis competitions at the 2023 SEA Games took place at Hall A, Changvar Convention Centre in Phnom Penh from 14 to 16 May 2023. Medals were awarded in 12 events.
Fencing competitions at the 2023 SEA Games took place at Chroy Changvar Convention Centre in Phnom Penh, Cambodia from 11 to 16 May 2023. The game featured 6 events, three individual and 3 team events.
Tennis at 2023 SEA Games was contested from 6 to 14 May 2023 at Tennis Arena, Morodok Techo National Stadium. Seven events were featured for tennis namely: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, mixed doubles, men's team and women's team.
The hockey competition at the 2023 SEA Games featured two medal events and the competition took place at the Morodok Techo National Stadium, Phnom Penh from 9–16 May 2023.
The Indoor hockey competition at the 2023 SEA Games featured two events and the competitions took place at the Rong Roeung Hall, Phnom Penh, Cambodia from 1–7 May 2023.
Soft tennis competitions at the 2023 SEA Games were held from 6–10 May 2023. The events were held in Tennis Sports Center, Olympic Complex. Total 7 medals were awarded in two events combined.
