Central Jakarta is one of the five administrative cities which form the Special Capital Region of Jakarta. It had 898,883 inhabitants according to the 2010 Census. Central Jakarta is not self-governed and does not have a city council, hence it is not classified as a proper municipality.

Sawah Besar is a subdistrict (kecamatan) of Central Jakarta, Indonesia. The neighborhoods within the subdistrict are among the most historic subdistrict in Jakarta, containing the 1820-established Pasar Baru, the colonial administrative center of Weltevreden, as well as the old course of the Ciliwung. Many colonial landmarks are located in the subdistrict, e.g. the Lapangan Banteng, the A.A. Maramis Building, and the Jakarta Cathedral.
Senen is a commercial center in Jakarta, Indonesia. The area was developed in the 18th-century as Pasar Senen at the time when governor Daendels established the bovenstad as the new center of government of Batavia. The area is one of the oldest commercial center in Jakarta. This historic commercial center of Senen is located in what is now the Administrative Village of Senen, in the northern part of the Senen Subdistrict. The Kasepuhan or Kasepuhan Banten Kidul are a traditional Sundanese community of approximately 5,300 people, who live in the southern part of Gunung Halimun National Park, in the Indonesian province of West Java. Gunung Halimun National Park is located within the borders of the Sukabumi Regency, Bogor and southern Banten province. The Kasepuhan is called "Kasepuhan Banten Kidul", their main village is Ciptagelar in the Cisolok subdistrict (kecamatan) in the western part of the Sukabumi Regency. The current head of the community, Abah Ugih, inherited the position of leader when his father, Abah Anom, died at the age of 54.

The Harmony Society was an elite social club in Batavia, Dutch East Indies. It was the oldest clubhouse in Asia when it was demolished. The construction of the group's building included the former bricks of the wall of Old Batavia. It was demolished for road widening and parking area in 1985. Activities at the club included cards and billiards. Indigenous people were excluded from the club.
