The 1982 ICC Trophy was a limited-overs cricket tournament held in England between 16 June and 10 July 1982. It was the second ICC Trophy tournament to be staged, with matches between the 16 participating teams played over 60 overs a side and with white clothing and red balls. As in the 1979 tournament, all matches were played in the Midlands, though on this occasion the final was held at Grace Road, Leicester.

The Bangladesh national cricket team played two Test matches and three One Day International (ODI) matches on a mid-year tour of Australia in 2003. They were captained by all-rounder Khaled Mahmud. The Australians were under a split captaincy—Steve Waugh in the Tests and Ricky Ponting in the following ODIs. The series marked the first time a Test match had been played outside an Australian state capital city; with matches played at Bundaberg Rum Stadium in Cairns, and the newly upgraded Marrara Oval in Darwin.
Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka competed in the second Asian Test Championship between August 2001 and March 2002. India pulled out of the tournament due to political tensions with Pakistan.
The South Africa national cricket team toured Bangladesh for two Test matches and three One Day Internationals in February and March 2008. For South Africa, it represented the first tour after the retirement of bowler Shaun Pollock while Bangladesh were looking to rebuild after heavy defeats against New Zealand and Sri Lanka.
The Sri Lankan team on their way back home from Australia visited Dhaka in March 1985. It was a very short tour; there was just one three-day fixture, played under searing March heat. Nevertheless, for the local side specially, this match produced some important achievements.
The Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) tour of Bangladesh during the winter of 1976/77 marked the entrance of Bangladesh into international cricket. Though the tour was very short, it gave the Bangladeshi players their first taste of international cricket.
The tour started immediately after Christmas and ended in mid-January. Michael Mence, a member of the 1976-77 MCC team, was the captain of the side, which included three former Test players, John Jameson, John Hampshire, and Richard Hutton.
Yousuf Rahman was a Bangladeshi cricketer, who played regularly for the national side from 1976-77 until his retirement in 1983–84. He top scored with 78 against the MCC at Dhaka in January 1977. He was the first Bangladeshi to score an international hundred, with 115 against PNG in 1982. In the early part of his career, he used to bat in the middle order, but from 1979–80 season onwards he was a regular opener. He was also a useful medium pacer.
Omar Mohammad Khaled is a Bangladeshi cricketer. A middle order batsman and a leg spin googley bowler, he played regularly for the national side between 1976–77 and 1983–84.
The 2nd SAARC cricket tournament was the second edition of the tournament. It held in Dhaka, Bangladesh in December 1994. Teams from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka participated in the tournament. Bangladesh, still an associate member of the ICC, played their full strength national side, while their neighbors sent their 'A' teams for the tournament. India won the cup after beating Bangladesh in the final. All the matches were 50 overs affair.
The tour of the Bangladesh team to Kenya, during February, 1984, was the first visit of Bangladesh to any associate member country. The tour started a rivalry which became very intense in the 1990s. On this tour, Bangladesh drew the only 3-Day fixture, won a 2-day match, but won only 1 of the 5 limited over matches(That too against the Combined School XI). Overall, it was a disappointing tour for the Bangladesh side.
The England cricket team toured Bangladesh at the end of the 2009–10 cricket season, playing three One Day Internationals (ODI) and two Test matches. Regular England captain Andrew Strauss controversially missed the tour to rest for the 2010–11 Ashes series, so the team was led for the first time by Alastair Cook. Bangladesh were captained by all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan.
National Sports Awards are given by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Government of Bangladesh for specific contributions in the field of games and sports. The award was introduced in 1976. As of 2011, total 175 sports personalities won the award.
Ziaul Islam Masud was a Bangladeshi ICC Trophy cricketer. A tall right-arm fast bowler, he represented Bangladesh in the 1979 ICC Trophy in England. During the late 1970s and early 1980s he enjoyed the reputation of being the fastest bowler in Bangladesh and the 1st International wicket taker for Bangladesh. "In spite of his aggressive fast bowling, this calm and collected individual was a cricketer par excellence, a magnificent and honorable representative of the sport and a gentleman of high class" [said by Yousuf Rahman (Babu)]
Operation Sundarbans or Operation Sundarban is a Bangladeshi wildlife action thriller movie. The film is co-written and directed by Dipankar Sengupta Dipon. The film is produced by RAB Welfare Cooperative Society Ltd. Nazim-ud-Doula and Dipon have written the screenplay. The plot is loosely based on real operations of RAB during surrender of robbers of Sundarbans as well as the struggle of Sundarbans' natives. It stars Riaz, Ziaul Roshan, Siam Ahmed, Taskeen Rahman, Shatabdi Wadud, Nusraat Faria and Darshana Banik, while Manoj Kumar Pramanik, debutant Samina Bashar, Dipu Imam, Ehsanur Rahman also joins the cast. The film begun its shooting on 20 December 2019 at Satkhira.
The 2022 Bangladesh Premier League Final was a day/night Twenty20 cricket played between Fortune Barishal and Comilla Victorians on 18 February 2022 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Dhaka to determine the winner of the 2021–22 Bangladesh Premier League, a professional Twenty20 cricket league in Bangladesh. Comilla Victorians won the final by 1 run to win their third BPL title.
