West One Music Group is a British global production music company. [2] Founded in Soho, London, in 2003, [3] the group consists of twelve labels, including And Then Some, Asia Record Collective, Electronic Dance Series, Fired Earth Music, Kaptain Music, Little Assembly, Real to Reel, Refuel Music, The Scoring House, SOMOS, West One Music and Zero Degrees. Adding to offices and in-house recording facilities in London, Los Angeles, Munich, Paris, Hong Kong and Bangkok, [5] the company expanded into the United States, in January, 2016, with offices in Los Angeles and New York, to deliver music directly to US clients. [1] West One Music Group is deeply ingrained in the history of the British music scene and boasts connections through its co-founder, Richard Harvey, with Hans Zimmer, John Williams, and The Who, among others.
West One Music is the signature label within West One Music Group and releases music across a wide range of genres, placed in programmes aired on Sky Living, [6] Showtime, [7] ABC. [8] The label also releases 'Artist Focus' albums intended to deliver commercial music for media use. Previous albums have featured artists such as George Timothy [9] and London rock band Gem & The Deadheads, [10] and Perfect Shadow is the latest release from LA-based, Greek-born singer-songwriter Kid Moxie. The Scoring House [13] features music composed and produced for corporate films and documentaries. The Scoring House is produced by Peter Cox, former managing director of EMI's label KPM. [14] [15]
Fired Earth Music is an LA-based label focusing on music for blockbuster trailers and TV promos. BAFTA award-winning film Ex Machina was promoted using "Siren of the Damned" and "Submerged" from the album SoundDesign Vol.2. [16] "Infinite, Immortal" was used by British dance troupe UDI for their performances on Britain's Got Talent .
SOMOS, is West One Music's Latin America-focused label, [1] launched in January 2016, is one of West One Music Group's collection of independent labels, created in partnership with Colombian-born producer Felipe Arévalo. [1] The music released on the SOMOS label is recorded in and around Latin America and is composed and produced entirely by Latin American musicians. [17] The first release on the label, Os Jogos, was created with the Rio 2016 Olympic Games in mind, in partnership with Brazilian producer Comando S. The resulting album was described as "inspirational, vibrant and emotive Brazilian music for sports, action and leisure" by Brazil Music Exchange. [18] [19] [1] [20] [21] [22] [23]
Since its release, SOMOS has had multiple nominations for its albums in local and international award ceremonies, including The Lukas (2018 - "Album of The Year" Nominee; 2019 - "Album of The Year" 2 Nominations), The Mark Awards (2018 - "Best Use of Production Music in Commercial Advertisement" Nominee [24] ), The Production Music Awards (2019 - "Best Use of Production Music in Commercial Advertisement" Nominee [25] ) and the Jerry Goldsmith Awards (2018 - "Best Score for a Free Creation Form" [26] Nominee).
Little Assembly is an independent commercial label—a later-added part of West One Music Group, broadening their music offering, with Edwin Cox as Creative Director and Adam Le Blanc as Head of A&R. An independent commercial label, Little Assembly focuses on experimental, often left-field pop music. [27] [28] Little Assembly launched in July 2017 with its first artist, Anna Lann. Anna Lann's single, Moist was the first release from the label, premiered by Bob Boilen of NPR Music. [29] Anna Lann's previous releases had premiered with the likes of Wonderland. [30]
Deborah Cox is a Canadian singer, songwriter, actress, and record producer. Born and raised in Toronto, she began performing on television commercials at age 12, and entered various talent shows in her teenage years before becoming a professional backing vocalist for Celine Dion. In 1994, Cox relocated to the United States and was signed to Arista Records by Clive Davis, releasing her self-titled debut album the following year. Her second studio album, One Wish (1998), was certified platinum in the United States. It was marked by the commercial success of the pop crossover single "Nobody's Supposed to Be Here", which would become her most successful entry on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at number two and remaining there for eight consecutive weeks. Cox signed with J Records for her third studio album The Morning After (2002), which saw moderate commercial success.
Armando Christian Pérez, known professionally as Pitbull, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, businessman and actor. He began his career in the early 2000s, recording reggaeton, Latin hip hop, and crunk music under a multitude of labels. In 2004, he released his debut album M.I.A.M.I. under TVT Records and the executive production of Lil Jon. Pitbull later released his second album, El Mariel, in 2006 and his third, The Boatlift, in 2007. His fourth album, Rebelution (2009), included his breakthrough hit single "I Know You Want Me ", which peaked at number two on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number four on the UK Singles Chart.
Priority Records is an American distribution company and record label known for artists including N.W.A, Ice-T, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Big L, Silkk the Shocker and Westside Connection. It also distributed hip hop record labels including Death Row Records, Hoo-Bangin' Records, No Limit Records, Posthuman Records, Rap-A-Lot Records, Rawkus Records, Roc-A-Fella Records, Ruthless Records Duck Down Records, and Wu-Tang Records. According to Billboard, "few record labels were as important to the rise of West Coast hip hop as Priority Records."
Thomas Wesley Pentz, known professionally as Diplo, is an American DJ, songwriter, and music producer. He is the co-creator and lead member of the electronic dancehall music project Major Lazer, a member of the supergroup LSD with Sia and Labrinth, a member of electronic duo Jack Ü with producer and DJ Skrillex, and a member of Silk City with Mark Ronson. He founded and manages record company Mad Decent, as well as co-founding the non-profit organization Heaps Decent. His 2013 EP, Revolution, debuted at number 68 on the US Billboard 200. The EP's title track was later featured in a commercial for Hyundai and is featured on the WWE 2K16 soundtrack.

Talento de Barrio is the soundtrack album to the film of the same name and the fifth studio album starring Puerto Rican reggaeton singer-songwriter Daddy Yankee, who also performs the songs on the album. It was released on August 12, 2008, by Machete Music and El Cartel Records, to accompany the motion picture Talento de Barrio. The album was mainly produced by reggaeton producers Eli El Musicólogo and Menes. The album production explores reggaeton with elements of tropical music such as merengue and dancehall along with EDM and electropop sounds. It receive positive reviews and was nominated for Best Urban Album at the 10th Annual Latin Grammy Awards. The Glorious Sons are a Canadian rock band from Kingston, Ontario. Formed in 2011, the band signed with Black Box in 2013. Since then, The Glorious Sons have released one EP, Shapeless Art, and four full-length albums; The Union, which was released on September 14, 2014. Young Beauties and Fools was released on October 13, 2017. Their third album, A War On Everything, was released September 13, 2019. On September 8, 2023, their fourth album, Glory, was released in its entirety after releasing several songs as singles. This also launched their North American tour, beginning in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They will play in their hometown of Kingston, Ontario on New Years Eve and the last stop of the tour will be St. Catherines, Ontario in February 2024.
Elsa y Elmar is the name of the musical project of Elsa Carvajal, a singer-songwriter from Colombia. The music of Elsa y Elmar can be described as synth-pop, and it integrates elements of folk, tropical, and Latin music. In 2014 Carvajal won the Grand Prize in the Latin category of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest for her song "Me Viene Bien", and in 2016 she played in front of 40,000 people as the opening act for Coldplay at their concert at the Estadio El Campín in Bogotá. Since 2018 she has lived in Mexico.
