Tertiary Sports Western Australia (TSWA) is the Western Australian Inter-University competition. Competing teams represent the five WA universities, Curtin University of Technology, Edith Cowan University, Murdoch University, The University of Notre Dame Australia and The University of Western Australia.
The Universities compete in various sports for competition points towards the overall region, as well as qualification for the Australian University Games.

The Fremantle Football Club, nicknamed the Dockers, is a professional Australian rules football club competing in the Australian Football League (AFL), the sport's elite competition. The team was founded in 1994 to represent the port city of Fremantle, a stronghold of football in Western Australia. The Dockers were the second team from the state to be admitted to the competition, following the West Coast Eagles in 1987.
Scotch College, is a multi-campus independent Uniting Church early learning, primary, and secondary day and boarding school for boys, located in the Perth suburb of Swanbourne, Western Australia.
Soccer in Western Australia is governed by Football West. In 1896, the first governing body was formed. Football West runs the National Premier Leagues Western Australia, State Leagues, Sunday League and Metropolitan League. There are also numerous casual and school competitions, as well as futsal and indoor soccer in competitive and social games.
The University of Western Australia Hockey Club (UWAHC), is represented in every level of competition within Hockey WA which includes the top Men's and Women's Division, the Men's Wizard Cup and the Women's Wizard League competitions in Western Australia. It was formed in 1924 to cater for students at The University of Western Australia who wanted to play field hockey.
Hockey WA is the organisation responsible for the sport of Field Hockey in the state of Western Australia. Hockey WA is represented in the Australian Hockey League competition by the SmokeFree WA Thundersticks and the SmokeFree WA Diamonds. Hockey WA also run the top club competitions in Australia, the Melville Toyota League for both Men and Women.
Terrence Brian "Terry" Moriarty was an Australian rules footballer who played with the Perth Football Club in the West Australian National Football League (WANFL). Having won the club's fairest and best trophy in his first two seasons, Moriarty went on to play 253 games over a 15-season career, which remains a club record. He also played nine interstate matches for Western Australia. Having also served in the Australian Army during World War II, he was the winner of the 1943 Sandover Medal as the best player in the competition, and was inducted into the West Australian Football Hall of Fame in 2010.
Eastern GoldfieldsCollege is a public co-educational high day school, located in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. It is located on the Curtin University campus in Kalgoorlie and shares many facilities with the University. The College accepts year 11 and 12 students from across the Goldfields region.
The Sherwood Magpies Australian Football Club is the senior Australian rules football club of the western suburbs of Brisbane which competes in Division One of the AFLQ State League. The club is based at McCarthy Homes Oval, 41 Chelmer st, Chelmer, at the same grounds as the Sherwood Junior Australian Football Club and fields a team in the AFLQ senior, reserve, under 18 and women's grade competitions. The Western Magpies AFC provides a focal point for talented players from all of the junior clubs that lie within Brisbane's western suburbs. The club aims to provide a pathway into the AFL for players from these junior clubs, develop the network of surrounding senior and junior Australian rules football clubs, and provide a fun, friendly, family oriented hub for local football in the western suburbs. The Sherwood Magpies Australian Football Club and Sherwood Junior Australian Football Club are sponsored by Tradelink, Hog's Breath Cafe and Cleanway.

InterVarsity Hockey refers to Field Hockey competitions in Australia between rival universities, dating back to 1908. The Men's and Women's competitions were organised and run separately until 1978, when they became a 'combined InterVarsity', before becoming part of the Australian University Games in 1993.
The Kevin Sheedy Medal is the award given to the Greater Western Sydney Giants player determined to have been the "best and fairest" throughout an AFL season. The voting system as of the 2017 AFL season, consists of up to five coaches giving each player a ranking out of four after each match. The award is named after the club's inaugural coach, Kevin Sheedy.
Emma Michelle Kearney is an Australian rules footballer and cricketer. She plays for and captains the North Melbourne Football Club in the AFL Women's (AFLW) and plays for the Melbourne Stars in the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL).
Nicola Stevens is an Australian rules footballer playing for the Carlton Football Club in the AFL Women's (AFLW). She previously played for the Collingwood Football Club in 2017. Stevens was selected in the inaugural AFL Women's All-Australian team and was the inaugural Collingwood best and fairest winner during her only season with the Magpies in 2017.
Libby Birch is an Australian rules footballer who plays for Melbourne in the AFL Women's (AFLW). She played the first 3 seasons of AFLW for the Western Bulldogs. She previously played netball and captained Victoria at the National Netball Championships. Birch is currently studying a Physiotherapy degree at La Trobe University. In 2016, Birch switched from netball to Australian rules football and was recruited by the Western Bulldogs as a rookie after having only played football for three months for the Darebin Falcons in the VFL Women's.
The 2018 AFL Women's season was the second season of the elite women's Australian rules football competition. Eight teams competed in the league, the same as the previous season, all of which are associated with existing Australian Football League (AFL) clubs. The first game was played on Friday, 2 February, and concluded with the grand final on Saturday, 24 March.

In the AFL Women's (AFLW), the Western Bulldogs best and fairest award is awarded to the best and fairest player at the Western Bulldogs during the home-and-away season. The award has been awarded annually since the competition's inaugural season in 2017, and Ellie Blackburn and Emma Kearney were the joint inaugural winners of the award.
The 2019 AFL Women's season was the third season of the elite women's Australian rules football competition. Ten teams competed in the league, two more than the previous season, all of which are associated with existing Australian Football League (AFL) clubs. To accommodate the extra teams a conference system was implemented.
The West Australian Netball League, also referred to as the WA Netball League, is a state netball league featuring teams from Western Australia. It is organised by Netball Western Australia. On a national level, the league is effectively a third level league, below Suncorp Super Netball and the Australian Netball League. It was originally known as the Gold Netball League. During the later 2000s and early 2010s, it was known as the Smarter than Smoking Netball League. Since 2019 it has been known as the Gold Industry Group WANL. Historically, the league's most successful team has been Southside Demons. During the 2010s the most successful team has been West Coast Warriors.
