Brandin Adar Knight is an American basketball coach and former player who is associate head coach for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.

Demetri McCamey, Jr. is an American professional basketball player for the Austin Spurs of the NBA G League. His prior professional experience includes time with the NBA Development League's Erie BayHawks, Rio Grande Valley Vipers and Fort Wayne Mad Ants, as well as time abroad with Hapoel Jerusalem, Mersin Büyükşehir Belediyesi, Oita Heat Devils and Cairns Taipans. He played college basketball for the University of Illinois where he completed his senior season in 2010–11 and was the 2009–10 Big Ten assists champion (7.06) and the 2009–10 NCAA runner-up.

The Friars, led by second-year head coach Ed Cooley, played their home games at the Dunkin' Donuts Center and were members of the Big East Conference. The Friars finished the season 19–15, 9–9 in Big East play to finish in a tie for ninth place. They lost to Cincinnati in the second round of the Big East tournament. The Friars received an at-large bid to the National Invitation Tournament where they defeated Charlotte and Robert Morris to advance to the NIT quarterfinals. There they lost to the eventual NIT champions, Baylor.
LaVell DeAaron Blanchard is an expatriate American professional basketball player who most recently played for the 9 de Julio de Río Tercero of the Liga Nacional de Básquet. He has previously played in several leagues in Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Ukraine. He was a four-time All-Big Ten Conference performer and 2000 Big Ten Freshman of the Year for the Michigan Wolverines men's basketball team. He is known for having been the fifth player to ever lead a National Collegiate Athletic Association team in both scoring and rebounding four times. He earned the Gatorade Player of the Year while playing for Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the home of the University of Michigan.
LaDontae Henton is an American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for Providence before playing professionally in Spain, the Philippines, NBA G League, Hungary and Israel. He is currently an Assistant Coach / Director of Player Development at Georgetown.
