Whirlwind Recordings is a London, UK-based independent record label established in 2010 by Michael Janisch. [1]
The label was founded in 2010 by bassist, composer, educator and producer Michael Janisch in order to release his debut solo album Purpose Built. [2] [3]
In October 2013, Whirlwind Recordings held the Whirlwind Festival. [4] The festival ran from October 10–12 at Kings Place in London. Among its 18 bands and 86 musicians were Andre Canniere, Greg Osby, Mike Gibbs, Norma Winstone, Robert Mitchell, and Logan Richardson. [5] [6]
Gilles Jérôme Moehrle MBE, better known as Gilles Peterson, is a French broadcaster, DJ, and record label owner. He founded the influential labels Acid Jazz and Talkin' Loud, and started his current label Brownswood Recordings in 2006. He was awarded an honorary MBE in 2004, the AIM Award for Indie Champion and the Mixmag Award for Outstanding Contribution To Dance Music in 2013, the PRS for Music Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music Radio in 2014, and The A&R Award from the Music Producers Guild in 2019.

Jim Hart is a vibraphonist, drummer and composer on the European contemporary jazz and alternative music scene.
