Whitewater Creek is a stream in Heard and Troup counties in the U.S. state of Georgia. [1] It is a tributary to the Chattahoochee River [2] within the waters of West Point Lake. [3]

Whitewater Creek's name is an accurate preservation of its native Creek language name Wehutkee, meaning "white water". [2] Variant names are "Hatchesoofkee Creek", "Wehutkee Creek", and "White Water Creek". [1]

Chattahoochee River River in Georgia, United States

The Chattahoochee River forms the southern half of the Alabama and Georgia border, as well as a portion of the Florida - Georgia border. It is a tributary of the Apalachicola River, a relatively short river formed by the confluence of the Chattahoochee and Flint rivers and emptying from Florida into Apalachicola Bay in the Gulf of Mexico.
