Wilkin Formby (born February 25, 2005) [1] [2] is an American football offensive tackle for the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Formby attended Northridge High School located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Coming out of high school, he was rated as a four-star recruit, the top overall player in the State of Alabama, and the 73rd overall player in the class of 2023. [3] Ultimately, Formby committed to play college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide over offers from other school such as Ole Miss, Oklahoma, LSU, and Tennessee. [2]
During his first season in 2023, he would use the season to redshirt, appearing in just three games. [4] Formby made his first collegiate start in week one of the 2024 season, in a win over Western Kentucky. [5] In week two, he struggled allowing five pressures and racking up four penalties in the win over South Florida, resulting in him being benched for the remainder of the season. [6] During the 2024 season, Formby played in eight games while making two starts. [7] Heading into the 2025 season, he is expected to be the Crimson Tide's starting right tackle. [8] [9]
