Brett William Backwell is a former Australian rules football player who achieved some international notoriety in 2005 when he had a finger amputated to enable him to continue his chosen sport. Backwell played for Carlton in the Australian Football League (AFL) from 1999 to 2001, and won the J. J. Liston Trophy in 2001 and the Magarey Medal in 2006.

Ben Kennedy is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Collingwood Football Club and Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). A small forward, 1.75 metres tall and weighing 78 kilograms (172 lb), Kennedy is able to contribute as a crumbing forward and is also capable of moving into the midfield. He played top-level football from a young age by representing South Australia from fifteen years of age, including as a bottom aged player in the 2011 AFL Under 18 Championships, and playing in Glenelg's senior side in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) at seventeen. His junior achievements included two-time selection in the under 18 All-Australian side, a SANFL star search nomination, and selection in the South Australian under 18 team of the decade. He was recruited by the Collingwood Football Club with the nineteenth selection in the 2012 AFL draft and he made his debut in the 2013 season. He played three seasons with Collingwood for a total of twenty-five matches before he was traded to Melbourne during the 2015 trade period. In October 2017, Kennedy was delisted by Melbourne after managing only 15 games in two seasons.
Brodie Murdoch is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the St Kilda Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was recruited by the club in the 2012 National Draft from SANFL club Glenelg, with pick 40. His original country club is Port MacDonnell in the Southeast of SA. Murdoch made his debut in Round 5, 2013, against Sydney at Westpac Stadium in Wellington NZ. At the conclusion of the 2016 season, he was delisted by St Kilda. He went on to win consecutive premierships with Port Melbourne in the VFL (2017) and Southport in the NEAFL (2018).
Sam Naismith is a former professional Australian rules footballer for the Richmond Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL), having previously played for the Sydney Swans between 2014 and 2022 before being delisted.
Colin Anderson is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Melbourne Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Originally from the Mulwala Football Club which competed in the Murray Football League, Anderson was listed with Melbourne from 1969 to 1972. He made his VFL debut in the round 10 match against North Melbourne at Arden Street Oval where he was named as a ruck rover and was retained in the side the next week in the match against Fitzroy at Junction Oval for his final VFL match, in which he totalled two senior games for his career. He was transferred to the Glenelg Football Club in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) in 1973 where he went on to play 90 games and kick 93 goals. He was also a professional sprinter where he won the 1975 Bendigo Two Thousand race. Following his career with Glenelg, he became a playing coach at Wagga in the Farrer Football League in 1976 where he led the Wagga Tigers Firsts to 3 consecutive Grand Finals, winning the first two in 1977 and 1978. In 1980, there was speculation he would return to the VFL and sign with South Melbourne, however, he was unable to secure a transfer from Glenelg and returned to that SA club to try and help secure a premiership with the SANFL Tigers in 1980, where he played the entire season helping to get Glenelg into the GF. Coach John Halbert dropped him the morning of the GF into the reserves in favour of an untried shorter player, Tony McInnes, debuting into the 1st’s in the GF.
