The 2019 South Australian National Football League season (officially the SANFL Statewide Super League) was the 140th season of the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) Australian rules football competition. [1] The season commenced on Friday, 29 March and concluded with the SANFL Grand Final on Sunday, 22 September. Glenelg won their fifth premiership after defeating Port Adelaide by 28 points in the Grand Final, their first flag since 1986.

Woodville-West Torrens Football Club

Woodville-West Torrens Football Club is an Australian rules football club playing in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL). It was formed in 1990 from an amalgamation of the neighbouring Woodville and West Torrens football clubs and played its inaugural game in 1991. Since 1993, the Eagles have played most of their home games at Woodville's home ground of Woodville Oval, having previously used Football Park. They also play two or three games per season at their pre-season base of Thebarton Oval, a ground which has six light towers that the club has upgraded in 2012 to allow night games at the ground for the first time since the 1983 Escort Cup Grand Final.

Fos Williams Australian rules footballer and coach

Foster Neil "Fos" Williams AM was a leading Australian rules footballer who played for and coached the Port Adelaide and West Adelaide Football Clubs and coached South Adelaide in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) in a career spanning 1946–1978. He also played 34 interstate games for South Australia, captaining the team from 1954 to 1958 and he coached the team in 45 games from 1955 to 1969.

West Torrens Football Club

West Torrens Football Club was an Australian rules football club that competed in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) from 1897 to 1990. In 1991, the club merged with neighbouring Woodville Football Club to form the Woodville-West Torrens Eagles.

Mark James Mickan is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Brisbane Bears and Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Mickan began his senior career with South Australian National Football League (SANFL) club West Adelaide in 1981 and finished back at West Adelaide in 1994. All-Australian team selection in 1988 marked the pinnacle of his playing career. He has a sister, Patricia Mickan, who was a basketballer.

The 1973 SANFL Grand Final was an Australian rules football game contested between the Glenelg Football Club and North Adelaide Football Club at Adelaide Oval on 29 September 1973. It was the 75th annual grand final of the South Australian National Football League (SANFL), staged to determine the premiers for the 1973 SANFL season. The match, attended by 56,525 spectators, was won by Glenelg by a margin of seven points, marking the club's second SANFL flag, breaking a 39-year premiership drought. It would be the last SANFL Grand Final held at Adelaide Oval until 2014.
