The 1888 South Australian Football Association season was the 12th season of the top-level Australian rules football competition in South Australia. The Norwood Football Club won their 8th premiership by winning 1 premiership point, or a half a win, more than Port Adelaide. Hotham Club was renamed North Adelaide for the 1888 Season but disbanded at the end of the Season following a merger with Adelaide. It has no connection with the North Adelaide Football Club currently in the SANFL. Medinidie joined in 1888 later to be renamed North Adelaide for the 1893 Season.

1890 SAFA season

The 1890 South Australian Football Association season was the 14th season of the top-level Australian rules football competition in South Australia.

Andrew MacCormac was a portrait painter in South Australia.

Alfred Scott Broad was an Australian artist, regarded as the first black-and-white artist born in South Australia to be published. He was known as "Alf", and was often referred to as "A. Scott Broad" as though his surname was "Scott-Broad", and was often written that way. An adult daughter was the subject of an unsolved mystery disappearance.

The 1876 South Australian football season was the fourteenth season of interclub football, and the last year in the state without an organised league body with an official set of rules.

Adelaide Glaciarium

The Adelaide Glaciarium, located in Adelaide, South Australia, was the first indoor ice-skating facility built in Australia. It is also the location of the first "hockey on the ice" match in the country, which was an adaptation of roller polo for the ice using ice skates. Contemporary ice hockey was never played at this venue but this ice skating rink, the country's first, provided the "test bed" facility for its successor, the Melbourne Glaciarium, the birthplace of ice hockey in Australia.

The 1914 Port Adelaide Football Club season was the club's 37th year in the South Australian Football League.

District Council of Birkenhead Local government area in South Australia

The District Council of Birkenhead was a local government area in South Australia centred on the suburb of Birkenhead. It was gazetted on 22 February 1877 from areas formerly part of the District Council of Lefevre's Peninsula. The council chambers were based out of the Birkenhead Hotel. It absorbed the remainder of the Lefevre's Peninsula council, which had been severely reduced in size by the creation of the Corporate Town of Semaphore, on 7 August 1884. It ceased to exist when it merged with the Corporate Town of Port Adelaide on 7 December 1886 as the Birkenhead Ward, a move supported by the council and the local population.

The 1875 South Australian football season was the thirteenth year of interclub football in South Australia.
