William F. Powers (born 1940) is a former Vice President of Research for the Ford Motor Company. In 1992 he was elected a Foreign Member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences.
Powers earned his bachelor's degree at the University of Florida, then a master's degree in engineering in 1966 and a Ph.D. in engineer in 1968 from the University of Texas at Austin. He was with Ford Motor Company from 1979 until 2000. He was with NASA in the 1960s.
He was elected a member of the National Academy of Engineering in 1993 for leadership in advancing research and development of automotive technology.

Ivo M. Babuška is a Czech-American mathematician, noted for his studies of the finite element method and the proof of the Babuška–Lax–Milgram theorem in partial differential equations. One of the celebrated result in the finite elements is the so-called Ladyzenskaja–Babuška–Brezzi (LBB) condition, which provides sufficient conditions for a stable mixed formulation. Bush presented Gandhi with the National Medal of Technology and Innovation at the White House in 2003. The National Academy of Engineering called Gandhi "one of the world's foremost authorities in the area of automotive emissions control".

He is known for his studies on mixed signal VLSI circuits and is an elected fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering. He is also a fellow of IEEE. The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, the apex agency of the Government of India for scientific research, awarded him the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology, one of the highest Indian science awards for his contributions to Engineering Sciences in 2012.
