William Watson (born 4 December 1949) is a Scottish former footballer, who played as a defender.
Watson signed with Manchester United in 1970. He played sparingly for United, going on loan to the Miami Toros of the North American Soccer League in 1973. After returning to England, Watson made a free transfer to Motherwell. In 1978, Watson moved to Dundee for two seasons. In 1980, he moved to the United States and signed with the Phoenix Inferno of the Major Indoor Soccer League. He spent four seasons with Phoenix. In the last season, the team was renamed the Phoenix Pride because the new Mormon ownership objected to the reference to hell. [2]

Andrew Watson was a Scottish footballer who is widely considered to be the first black person to play association football at international level. He played three matches for Scotland between 1881 and 1882. Arthur Wharton was previously commonly thought to be the first black player, as he was the first black professional footballer to play in the Football League, but Watson's career predated him by over a decade. There is evidence that Watson was paid professionally when at Bootle in 1887, two years prior to Wharton becoming a professional with Rotherham Town; however, the Merseyside club did not play in the Football League at the time Watson played there.

William Donachie is a Scottish former professional footballer. Donachie had a long playing career, the majority of which was with Manchester City. He also played for Norwich City, Burnley, Oldham Athletic and Portland Timbers. Donachie played 35 times for Scotland and was selected in two FIFA World Cup squads. Towards the end of his playing career Donachie became a player-coach at Oldham, working with Joe Royle. Donachie has since worked for numerous teams in coaching roles.
