Wilson was a five-piece rock band from East Lansing, Michigan, United States. The band formed in 2010 when founding member Jason Spencer was attending Michigan State University. [1] Vocalist Chad Nicefield joined in late 2010. [2] [3] They released three full studio albums: Full Blast Fuckery (2013), [4] Right to Rise (2015) [5] and Tasty Nasty (2018). The band also released an EP in 2010 named Standing On The Reel under a different lineup, besides Jason Spencer. Wilson’s final lineup comprised Chad Nicefield (vocals), Jason Spencer (guitar), Kyle Landry (guitar), James Lascu (bass) and Matt Puhy (drums).

Early years - Full Blast Fuckery (2013)

Wilson entered the studio in early 2013 to release what would be their first full studio album following the 2010 EP Standing On The Reel. [6] The album was co-produced and engineered by Shane D. Grush and Steve Evetts, and mixed by Grant Mohrman and Evetts. It was released through Easy Killer Records in the US, and New Damage Records in Canada. [7]

Music videos were released in support of the album, with single video releases for the songs "College Gangbang", "Strictly Doods (Better Off), and "If You Ever Leave Me...". "Better Off" received airtime and video plays in the UK on Scuzz TV, Kerrang!, and Team Rock radio.

Reviews for the album were positive, with particular praise for the high energy and "balls-out nature" of the album. Greg Kennelty of Metal Injection wrote, "In short, Full Blast Fuckery is the album you put on when everyone's at the party and you've opened the first twenty-something beers with every intention of destroying the place". [8]

In support of the album, the band spent the majority of 2013 and 2014 on the road across the US with artists such as Gwar, Jason Newsted, Scorpion Child and The Greenery. [9]

The band released Full Blast Fuckery in the UK on July 7, 2014, with the first ever vinyl record releases of the album. [10]

Right To Rise (2015)

In early 2015, Wilson took some time off from touring and headed back to the studio in preparation for the recording of their second album.

Upon the album's completion, Wilson went to the UK and mainland Europe in March for their first tour of these parts in support of Halestorm alongside Nothingmore and The Fallen State (on limited dates). During this time, the band released their first song from the upcoming album Right To Rise, "Hang With The Devil". [11] The band also announced that they had signed a record deal with Razor & Tie Records, with the new album being released on June 29, 2015. [12]

In support of Right To Rise, Wilson embarked on their first headline UK tour in early 2016, with support coming from Devon-based Reigning Days. [13] [14]

In September 2016, the band featured on the cover CD of Metal Hammer's 30-year anniversary issue, with a worldwide exclusive cover of Rage Against The Machine's "Sleep Now In The Fire". [15]

Tasty Nasty and disbandment (2018–2019)

In May 2018, Wilson performed at the Rock On The Range festival in Columbus, Ohio with a new look and appearance, debuting previously unreleased material. Following this show, the band announced the details of their long-awaited third album, Tasty Nasty, to be released August 24, [16] [17] produced by the band and Scott Stevens (Sixx A.M, Papa Roach, Nothingmore). The album also saw the band separate from Razor and Tie, releasing instead via Sony RED music.

In an interview with Blabbermouth, frontman Chad Nicefield spoke of the stylistic changes in the upcoming release, stating, "I just kind of realized who we are as people and our DNA was that of a bunch of lovable, silly dudes, that love to make music." [18]

The announcement also coincided with the release of the first single from the album, "Like A Baller", accompanied by a music video produced and directed by Raymond Rivard and lead singer, Chad Nicefield. The song was dubbed a "reflective introspection" of the adventures of a parking valet. [19]

The band also embarked on a tour in support of Theory Of A Deadman across the summer, along with some festival appearances, including Rock Fest. During this tour, the band released two new singles from the upcoming album, "Dumptruck" and "Fuck Up My High". [20] [21]

In late 2018, Wilson supported Steel Panther on nine shows across the Midwest.

In July 2019, Wilson announced guitarist Kyle Landry is leaving the band to pursue a new career and to be home with his wife and family.

On November 6, 2019, Wilson announced that their final live show would be December 28, 2019. [22]

Bullet for My Valentine, often abbreviated as BFMV, are a Welsh heavy metal band from Bridgend, formed in 1998. The band is currently composed of Matthew Tuck, Michael Paget, Jason Bowld (drums) and Jamie Mathias. Former members include Michael Thomas, Jason James and Nick Crandle; the latter were on bass. They were formed under the name Jeff Killed John and started their music career by covering songs by Metallica and Nirvana. Jeff Killed John recorded six songs which were not released; two of these tracks were reworked later in their career as Bullet for My Valentine. A change of style from that of Jeff Killed John led the band to change their name. In 2002, the band secured a five-album deal with Sony BMG. The band has stated that their music is influenced by classic metal acts such as Metallica, Iron Maiden and Slayer. The band is part of the Cardiff music scene.

Panic! at the Disco American pop rock band and solo project

Panic! at the Disco is the solo project of American musician Brendon Urie. It was originally a pop rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada, formed in 2004 by childhood friends Urie, Ryan Ross, Spencer Smith, and Brent Wilson. They recorded their first demos while they were in high school. Shortly after, the band recorded and released their debut studio album, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out (2005). Popularized by the second single, "I Write Sins Not Tragedies", the album was certified triple platinum in the US. In 2006, founding bassist Brent Wilson was fired from the band during an extensive world tour and subsequently replaced by Jon Walker. The band's second album, Pretty. Odd. (2008), was preceded by the single "Nine in the Afternoon". That album marked a significant departure from the sound of the band's debut. Ross and Walker, who favored the band's new direction, departed because Urie and Smith wanted to make further changes to the band's style. Ross and Walker subsequently formed a new band, the Young Veins, leaving Urie and Smith as the sole remaining members of Panic! at the Disco.

All Time Low American rock band

All Time Low is an American rock band from Towson, Maryland formed in 2003. Consisting of lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist Alex Gaskarth, lead guitarist Jack Barakat, bassist/backing vocalist Zack Merrick, and drummer Rian Dawson, the band took its name from lyrics in the song "Head on Collision" by New Found Glory. Five Finger Death Punch American heavy metal band

Five Finger Death Punch, also abbreviated as 5FDP or FFDP, is an American heavy metal band from Las Vegas, Nevada, formed in 2005. The band originally consisted of vocalist Ivan Moody, rhythm guitarist Zoltan Bathory, lead guitarist Caleb Andrew Bingham, bassist Matt Snell, and drummer Jeremy Spencer. Bingham was replaced by guitarist Darrell Roberts in 2006, who was then replaced by Jason Hook in 2009. Bassist Matt Snell departed from the band in 2010, and was replaced by Chris Kael in 2011. Spencer then departed the band in 2018 due to recurring back issues, and was replaced by Charlie Engen, making rhythm guitarist Bathory the only remaining founding member of the band. In October 2020, British guitarist Andy James became the band's lead guitarist, replacing Jason Hook.

A Day to Remember American rock band

A Day to Remember is an American rock band from Ocala, Florida, founded in 2003 by guitarist Tom Denney and drummer Bobby Scruggs. They are known for their amalgamation of metalcore and pop punk. Caleb Shomo American musician

Caleb Joshua Shomo is an American singer, musician, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter. He is most well known as the lead-vocalist of hardcore punk band Beartooth, though he records all studio instrumentals for the band. He is also the former lead vocalist, keyboardist, and early backing vocalist of electronicore band Attack Attack!, and the owner of Studio Records in Columbus, Ohio. Shomo joined Attack Attack! as keyboardist at 15 years old while maintaining a passion for electronic music and eventually grew into record production by 18.

Bury Tomorrow are a British metalcore band formed in 2006 in Southampton, Hampshire, England. The band is composed of six members; lead vocalist Daniel Winter-Bates, bassist Davyd Winter-Bates, drummer Adam Jackson, lead guitarist Kristan Dawson, who replaced founding guitarist Mehdi Vismara in 2013, rhythm guitarist Ed Hartwell, and keyboardist and vocalist Tom Prendergast, who both replaced Jason Cameron in 2021. White Noise is the debut studio album by American rock band Pvris. Pvris formed as a five-piece metalcore band in Lowell, Massachusetts in 2012. Following the band becoming a four-piece of vocalist/guitarist Lyndsey Gunnulfsen, guitarist Alex Babinski, bassist Brian MacDonald and drummer Brad Griffin, the group's sound changed. Bringing pop and electronic elements into their music, the band released a self-titled EP. After winning a contest, the band played a week on Warped Tour; following this, Griffin left the band. The group signed with Rise and Velocity Records in June 2014. White Noise was recorded with producer Blake Harnage.
