During his cycling career, he took five victories – including Grand Tour stage wins at the 2013 Giro d'Italia and the 2014 Vuelta a España, which came during a record run of twenty consecutive Grand Tour starts, and finishes, from 2011 to 2018.
Jelle Vanendert is a Belgian former professional road racing cyclist, who last rode for UCI ProTeam Bingoal Pauwels Sauces WB. He competed in a total of ten Grand Tours during his career. His younger brother Dennis Vanendert also competed professionally with the Lotto–Soudal team between 2012 and 2015.
Nico Sijmens is a retired Belgian road racing cyclist, who competed professionally between 2001 and 2014. Sijmens rodes for the Vlaanderen–T Interim, Landbouwkrediet–Tönissteiner, Cofidis and Wanty–Groupe Gobert teams over his career.

He had two major victories in his career, the first at the 2009 Tour du Doubs, and the second at the Hel van Het Mergelland.
Tom Stamsnijder is a Dutch former professional road bicycle racer, who rode professionally between 2004 and 2018 for the Rabobank Continental Team, Gerolsteiner, Rabobank, Leopard Trek and Team Sunweb squads. Stamsnijder is the son of former cyclo-cross world champion Hennie Stamsnijder.

He was named in the start list for the 2015 Vuelta a España. In May 2018, he was named in the startlist for the Giro d'Italia. In August 2020, he was named in the startlist for the 2020 Tour de France.
The 2003 Hel van het Mergelland was the 30th edition of the Volta Limburg Classic cycle race and was held on 5 April 2003. The race started and finished in Eijsden. The race was won by Wim Van Huffel.
Raymond Meijs is a Dutch former road cyclist, who competed as a professional from 1992 to 2001. He notably won the Hel van het Mergelland a record four times in his career, as well as the UCI Junior World Road Race Championships in 1985.
