Windermere is a town in Orange County, Florida, United States. As of the 2010 census, the town population was 2,462. It is part of the Orlando Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Route 79 is a state highway located in Monmouth County in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It runs 12.13 mi (19.52 km) from an intersection with U.S. Route 9 in Freehold Township north to an intersection with Route 34 and County Route 516 Spur in Matawan. The route is a mostly two-lane undivided road that passes through both suburban residential areas and rural areas. The route intersects Route 33 in Freehold Township, Route 33 Business and CR 537 in Freehold Borough, Route 18 and CR 520 in Marlboro Township, and CR 516 in Matawan.
Windermere is the largest natural lake in England. It is a ribbon lake formed in a glacial trough after the retreat of ice at the start of the current interglacial period. It has been one of the country's most popular places for holidays and summer homes since the arrival of the Kendal and Windermere Railway's branch line in 1847. Historically forming part of the border between Lancashire and Westmorland, it is now within the county of Cumbria and the Lake District National Park.
Windermere is a town and civil parish in the South Lakeland District of Cumbria, England. It has a population of 8,245 increasing to 8,359 at the 2011 Census, and lies about half a mile (1 km) away from the lake, Windermere. Although the town Windermere does not touch the lake, it has now grown together with the older lakeside town of Bowness-on-Windermere, though the two retain distinguishable town centres. Tourism is popular in the town owing to its proximity to the lake and local scenery. Boats from the piers in Bowness sail around the lake, many calling at Ambleside or at Lakeside where there is a restored railway. Windermere Hotel opened at the same time as the railway.
Makhanda is a town of about 70,000 people in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. It is situated about 110 kilometres (70 mi) northeast of Port Elizabeth and 130 kilometres (80 mi) southwest of East London. Grahamstown is the largest town in the Makana Local Municipality, and the seat of the municipal council. It also hosts Rhodes University, the Eastern Cape Division of the High Court, The South African Library for the Blind (SALB) and a diocese of the Anglican Church of Southern Africa and 6 South African Infantry Battalion. The name change to Makhanda was officially gazetted on 29 June 2018 and the town was officially renamed to Makhanda in order to "rightfully" immortalise the memory of Xhosa warrior and prophet Makhanda ka Nxele.
Windermere School is an independent, coeducational boarding and day school in the English Lake District. It has approximately 350 pupils between the ages of 3 and 18, around half of whom are boarders. This day and boarding school was established in Windermere in 1863. The School is split across three campuses on over fifty acres of land. The Elleray Campus is the Infant and Junior site and the Browhead Campus is the Senior School and Sixth Form site. These sites are approximately 2 miles apart. The School also has its own Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Watersports Centre on the shores of Lake Windermere. In 2018, Hodge Howe Watersports Centre became a British Youth Sailing Recognised Club by the RYA for its race training, becoming the first school in the UK to earn this status. In 2010, the school changed its name from Windermere St Anne’s School to Windermere School. It was named as the Sunday Times International Baccalaureate School of the Year for 2017-2018 and is a member of Round Square and the Society of Headmasters & Headmistresses of Independent Schools. The Good Schools Guide describes Windermere as 'a school which revels in a hearty approach to everything from academia to friendships'. In the latest inspection report by the Independent Schools’ Inspectorate, Windermere School received the highest grades for the quality of the education provided; it was recognised as ‘Excellent’ for both categories: academic and other achievements, and personal development.

School Knott is a hill in the Lake District, England, to the east of Windermere town, Cumbria. It is the subject of a chapter of Wainwright's book The Outlying Fells of Lakeland. His recommended route starts at Windermere railway station and includes Grandsire at 818 feet (249 m) and a nameless summit at 806 feet (246 m). The summit is at 760 feet (230 m) and offers a view of four sections of Windermere, the lake. It has a rocky outcrop but no trig point and, as reported by Wainwright, no cairn. Schoolknott Tarn is to the south-east of the summit.
