The Windermere Town Hall (also known as the Old Windermere Women's Club) is a historic site in Windermere, Florida, United States. It is located at 520 Main Street, and built in 1922. On June 3, 1994, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

A part of Jefferson County Schools, it serves grades 6 - 12. The school's mascot is a tiger and the school colors are orange and blue. It is at 50 David Road, 4 miles (6.4 km) south of the center of Monticello. The school was formerly housed in the historic Jefferson Academy building, opened in 1852 in the first brick school building in Florida. Minority enrollment at Jefferson County Middle / High School is about 340 and 84 percent minority. It was operated by Somerset Academy Inc. for five years. The student body is minority majority, about 60 percent African American.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">1890 Windermere School</span> United States historic place

The 1890 Windermere School is a historic school in Windermere, Florida, United States. The schoolhouse is located at 113 West Seventh Avenue. The building served the community as a school between 1890 and 1916, then as a community center through 1923. After its days as a community center, it became a private residence. In 1995 the Armstrong-Parramore family, who owned the land and building, donated it to the city. Rooms and structures added to the building by the Armstrong-Parramores were dismantled, restoring the building to its original form. On June 5, 2003, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. In 2011, the Windermere city government wished to move the historic building to another location. However, a movement arose to keep it in its current location. The issue was put to Windermere voters in the form of a town charter amendment. The amendment, which protected the schoolhouse from further move attempts, passed overwhelmingly with 71.25% of voters in favor.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Luther F. Tilden</span> Florida pioneer (1834–1929)

Luther Fuller Tilden was a pioneer, community leader, and cultural icon of western Orange County, Florida. Tilden owned large tracts of land south of Lake Apopka, where his family's farms and properties were a sizeable portion of the economy. The area around his property came to be known as Tildenville, sandwiched between the towns of Winter Garden and Oakland. His family is a branch of the larger Tylden Family.
