Wine.com is an American wine online retailer. [1] Wine.com sells over 2 million bottles per year, with a stock of more than 17,000 different bottles of wine, in the United States. [2]
The company now known as Wine.com was originally founded as Virtual Vineyards by Robert Olson in Los Altos, California in 1994 with co-founders Master Sommelier Peter Granoff, and Information Architect Harry Max. [3] Virtual Vineyards sold its first bottle of wine online on January 24, 1995 and went into full production a couple of weeks later. The current Wine.com business was founded by Mike Osborn in Portland, Oregon as eVineyard in 1998. [4] In 1995, David Harmon founded wine.com and in 1999 sold the information site Wine.com to Virtual Vineyards for over US$10,000,000.[ citation needed ] In 2000, VirtualVineyards.com and WineShopper.com merged under the Wine.com name.[ citation needed ] The combined business became bankrupt, and in the spring of 2001 eVineyard purchased its assets, becoming known as Wine.com,[ citation needed ] which then moved its corporate offices to San Francisco, CA. In 2006, Rich Bergsund joined Wine.com as CEO, seeing the company through a financial turnaround.[ citation needed ] According to Internet Retailer, the company grew to become the biggest online wine retailer in the United States.[ citation needed ] Wine.com is majority-owned by Baker Capital, a New York–based private equity firm.
In December 2009, Wine.com launched an iPhone application. In November 2010, Wine.com launched an iPad application, with a dashboard to view wine labels and an interactive geo-location tour of where the wine was produced. [5] In November 2011, Wine.com established a mobile site. [6]

Napster is a music streaming service based in Seattle, Washington. Downloaded files come with restrictions on their use, enforced by Helix, Rhapsody's version of digital rights management enforced on AAC+ or WMA files.
Weather Underground is a commercial weather service providing real-time weather information over the Internet. Weather Underground provides weather reports for most major cities around the world on its Web site, as well as local weather reports for newspapers and third-party sites. Its information comes from the National Weather Service (NWS), and over 250,000 personal weather stations (PWS). The site is available in many languages, and customers can access an ad-free version of the site with additional features for an annual fee. Weather Underground is owned by The Weather Company, a subsidiary of IBM.

d'Arenberg is an Australian wine company founded in 1912. All of its vineyards are located in South Australia's McLaren Vale wine region, although some of the wines they make are produced from grapes sourced from the Adelaide Hills wine region and other parts of the Fleurieu zone. It is now owned by the fourth generation of the Osborn family, headed by Chester Osborn. d'Arenberg are known for the quirky names of their wines, and their specialism in the vines of the Rhône valley. They also produce many of their wines in a traditional manner, using basket pressing for both reds and whites and leaving the vast majority of the red wines unfiltered and unfined which can cause the wine to throw a sediment in bottle but leaves the flavour intact. The majority of their red wines are suitable for ageing as well as for drinking fairly young and even the cheaper wines show very well after a few years in bottle. Perhaps their best known wine is 'The Dead Arm Shiraz', made from fungus-infected shiraz grape vines.
