Sodo or Wolaita Sodo or is a city in south-central Ethiopia. The City is a political and administrative center of the Wolaita Zone and South Ethiopia Regional State. It has a latitude and longitude of 6°54′N37°45′E with an elevation between 1,600 and 2,100 metres above sea level. It was part of the former Sodo woreda which included Sodo Zuria which completely surrounds it.

Wolayita or Wolaita is an administrative zone in Ethiopia. It is named for the Welayta people, whose homeland is in the zone. Wolayita is bordered on the south by Gamo Gofa, on the west by the Omo River which separates it from Dawro, on the northwest by Kembata Zone and Tembaro Special Woreda, on the north by Hadiya, on the northeast by the Oromia Region, on the east by the Bilate River which separates it from Sidama Region, and on the south east by the Lake Abaya which separates it from Oromia Region. Sodo Airport is an airport serving in Wolaita Sodo, a city in Wolaita Zone, Ethiopia. The airport is located 10 km to northern part of the city. Currently, the airport is not under operation and its reconstruction is started in 2022.

Wolaita Sodo University is a public university in Wolaita Sodo, South Ethiopia Regional State, Ethiopia. It is approximately 339 kilometers far from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in southwest direction. It is one of the second generation universities of Ethiopia. The foundation stone of the university laid by Prime Minister Meles Zenawi. The university has three campuses: Gandaba Campus, Otona Campus and Tercha Campus. Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Ethiopian categorized the university under applied institutions.
Bitena is a town in Wolayita Zone, Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region, Ethiopia. It is administrative capital of Diguna Fango district of Wolayita Zone, Ethiopia. Bitena is located about 355 km away from Addis Ababa to the south on the path Addis-Hawassa-Dimtu-Sodo and 45 km away from Sodo, the capital of [[Wolaita Zone|Wolaita Zone]]. In addition to hosting sport competition the stadium also used for organizing different mass conferences and holydays like Gifaata. Wolaita Sodo Stadium can accommodate the maximum capacity for spectators watching a football match is 30,000.
Boditi Stadium or Boditi City Stadium is a stadium in Southern Ethiopia within Wolayita Zone. The stadium is multipurpose stadium based in Boditi city, Northeastern part of Wolayita Zone. It is primarily used for concerts and also serves as Boditi City F.C.'s home stadium. And it used by Wolaita Dicha sport club for matches of Ethiopian Premier League as home stadium when Sodo Stadium is under renewal and enlargement in 2007 and 2008 Ethiopian calendar. The full capacity for seated spectators enjoying a football match at Boditi Stadium is about 1,500. The stadium geographical location lies on the 6°57'19" N and 37°51'37" E. And also elevation of the stadium is 2038 meters above the sea level.
Wolaita Tussa Sports Club, also known as Wolaita Tussa, is a professional football club based in Wolaita Sodo, Ethiopia. The club was founded in 1988 by known pop of catholic missioner Gino Benanti. After its formation the club was well known and popular in southern region. They were a member of the Ethiopian Football Federation and now participating in Ethiopia U-20 Premier league. But latter on after playing the first round Wolaita Zone Youth and Sport department declared that Wolaita Tussa would not continue the second round because of budget deficit.
Sodo City Sport Club or in short Sodo City Sport Club is an Ethiopian football club based in Wolaita Sodo.Sodo City S.C. was officially established in 2011. The club is a member of the Ethiopian Football Federation and plays in the Ethiopian Higher League, the second order professional football competition in Ethiopia. Sodo City S.C. is one of the leading clubs in Wolayita Zone, which is known for recruiting young football players.
Wolaita Dicha U-20 F.C. or ወላይታ ዲቻ ከ20 ዓመት በታች እግር ኳስ ክሌብ is Ethiopian football club at an under-20 age level and is controlled by the Ethiopian Football Federation. Wolaita Dicha u-20 is a football club known for producing young players. Because of this the club makes a significant contribution to strengthen main Wolaita Dicha football team. During the 2021 tournament, the team was disbanded due to a lack of budgets. However, the club was reorganized the following year and won Ethiopian Under-20 Premier League title for the second time. The team typically contender in U-20 Premier League tournament in Ethiopia.
