A women-only bank is a financial institution catering exclusively to women.

Development

In 2001, Dubai Islamic Bank opened a women-only bank branch. [1]

Iran opened such a bank in Mashhad on June 7, 2010. The bank's director stated, "the aim is not sex segregation but respect for women." [2] [3] The government-owned bank is Bank Melli. [4]

In Saudi Arabia, most banks have some sort of women-only branch within the main branch. Not necessarily all branches and banks have this. Albeit the main branch can usually be accessed by both men and women.

in 2013, India launched its first public sector bank for women only, in Mumbai, aimed at economically empowering millions of women in India. [5]

Bank Melli Iran is the first national and commercial retail bank of Iran. It is considered as the largest Iranian company in terms of annual income with a revenue of 364 657 billion Rials in 2016. It is the largest bank in the Islamic world and in the Middle East. By the end of 2016, BMI had a net asset of $76.6 billion and a vast network of 3.328 banking branches; so it is known as the largest Iranian bank based on the amount of assets. The brand of BMI was recognized as one of the 100 top Iranian brands in 10th National Iranian Heroes Championship in 2013. The National Bank has 3328 active branches inside, 14 active branches and 4 sub-stations abroad and it has 180 booths. The first managing director of BMI was Kurt Lindenblatt from Germany. Also, the first foreign branch of BMI was opened in Hamburg, Germany in 1948.

It refers to a process by which individuals and businesses can access appropriate, affordable, and timely financial products and services. These include banking, loan, equity, and insurance products. Financial inclusion efforts typically target those who are unbanked and underbanked, and directs sustainable financial services to them. Financial inclusion is understood to go beyond merely opening a bank account. It is possible for banked individuals to be excluded from financial services. Having more inclusive financial systems has been linked to stronger and more sustainable economic growth and development and thus achieving financial inclusion has become a priority for many countries across the globe.

Citibank Indonesia is a universal bank that offers a wide range of retail and commercial banking services. Citi has been present in Indonesia since 1968 and is one of the largest foreign banks in the country by asset size. Citibank Indonesia operates 11 branches and 70+ ATMs; it has a customer payment network with more than 50,000 payment points and a corporate distribution network with 4,800 locations across 34 provinces. Future Bank B.S.C. is a commercial bank that was based in Manama, Bahrain. It started as a joint venture by Ahli United Bank and two Iranian state-owned banks, Bank Melli and Bank Saderat.

Tri Counties Bank is a financial institution headquartered in Chico, California. It is a subsidiary of holding company TriCo Bancshares headquartered in Chico, California. The first branch opened in 1975 to serve the Butte, Glenn, and Tehama counties, from which the bank received its name. As of 2021, the bank has over 75 branches in California, over 37,000 ATMs nationwide, and total assets of approximately $8 billion.
