Wonderboy Records

Wonderboy Records was a British dance music record label and a subsidiary of Decca Music (and the parent label Universal Music). The label was active from 1995 to 2003. The brand was briefly resurrected for one release in 2005.

The Sugarcubes Icelandic rock band

The Sugarcubes were an Icelandic alternative rock band from Reykjavík formed in 1986 and disbanded in 1992. For most of their career, the band consisted of Björk Guðmundsdóttir, Einar Örn Benediktsson, Þór Eldon (guitar), Bragi Ólafsson (bass), Margrét "Magga" Örnólfsdóttir (keyboards) and Sigtryggur Baldursson (drums).

The Walkmen

Tenacious D is the first studio album by American comedy rock band Tenacious D, released on September 25, 2001 by Epic Records. The album's polished production was a departure from the band's acoustic origins, due in part to the production of the Dust Brothers. "Wonderboy" was the first single released from the album, followed by "Tribute". Both singles had music videos filmed for them, with the Liam Lynch-directed "Tribute" video achieving cult status. While Tenacious D did not achieve chart success after its release, it was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) by the end of 2005. Despite only peaking at number 38 in the UK, it had sold 426,000 copies countrywide by 2006.

Mark Summers is the English CEO, sound engineer and music producer of Scorccio, a music production company founded in the UK in 1996. He is related to Herbie Flowers, one of the UK's best-known session bass players.

Shaft are an English electronic music production duo, known for their covers and remixes of "(Mucho Mambo) Sway" and "Mambo Italiano". The former entered and peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart in August 1999, then reached number one on New Zealand's Recorded Music NZ chart in December. They followed this with the release of "Mambo Italiano", which peaked at number twelve on the UK Singles Chart but ultimately did not replicate the success of the previous single. They went on to tour the world and win a gold disc for best performing group. Since then, they have recorded more songs such as "Kiri Riri Boom" and "Shake Seniora".

Uh La La La

"Uh La La La" is a 1997 song recorded by Italian singer Alexia featuring additional vocals by an uncredited male rapper. It was released as the fourth single from her debut album, Fan Club (1997), and is written by Roberto Zanetti and Alexia herself. The song was a summer hit of 1997 in Europe and became Alexia's international breakout success. It reached number-one in Italy and Spain, number two in Finland and was a Top 10 hit also in Austria, Ireland, Scotland, Sweden and the UK. After its success in Europe, the song was remixed for a UK release the following year, which also saw release in Australia, where it peaked at number 17. This was her last single to be released by different labels in different territories as after this all her releases would be by Sony Music.

Wonderboy (The Kinks song) 1968 single by the Kinks

"Wonderboy" is a pop song, written by Ray Davies and recorded by the Kinks in 1968. "Wonderboy" stalled at number 36 in the UK charts, becoming the band's first single not to make the UK Top Twenty since their early covers. Despite this, it became a favourite of John Lennon of The Beatles, and, according to Ray Davies in his autobiography, X-Ray, "someone had seen John Lennon in a club and he kept on asking the disc jockey to play 'Wonder Boy' [sic] over and over again." Kinks guitarist Dave Davies praised the song, saying, "'Wonderboy' was a big one for us although it wasn't a hit. That was one song we really felt something for." However, bassist Peter Quaife's opinion towards the track was low, later stating that "[I] hated it ... it was horrible."

Nu-disco is a 21st-century dance music genre associated with a renewed interest in the late 1970s US disco, synthesizer-heavy 1980s European dance music styles, and early 1990s electronic dance music. The genre was especially popular in the first half of the 2000s, and experienced another mild resurgence throughout the 2010s.

"Too Blind to See It" is a 1991 song by American singer Kym Sims, written and produced by Steve "Silk" Hurley. It was released as the first single from the album of the same name and uses a sample of the Shep Pettibone Mix of the 1983, First Choice track, "Let No Man Put Asunder". First released by the independent I.D. label in America in August 1991, it was subsequently picked up by Atco Records, which released it in the UK. Sims was asked to demo the song more than a year before she went back into the studio to record the commercially released version. She told in an 1991 interview, "I guess they must have decided to give it to someone else, but they came back eventually." The song peaked at number 38 on the US Billboard Hot 100, but peaked at number-one on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart. Turn It Around (Alena song) 1998 song by Alena

"Turn It Around" is a song written by Dutch DJ and producer Carlo Resoort and featuring singer Alena Lova. Originally released on white label in 1998, the single was given a commercial release on 8 November 1999, with a new remix by the UK trance music act the Space Brothers. The Space Brothers remix features additional lyrics credited to Simmonds and Jones.
