World Rugby League is based in Argentina. It is a confederation of recognised national Federations. F.e. Lega Italiana Rugby Football League is recognised by CONI.

It was formed in 2016 after a meeting between non-RLIF recognised Rugby League Federations in Florence. The first Assembly took place in Athens, in 2017. [1] [2]

The Greece national rugby league team represents Greece in rugby league. The national team has been participating in international competition since 2003, and have become an affiliate member of the Rugby League International Federation.

The Italy national rugby league team represents Italy in rugby league football. With origins dating back to the 1950s and 1960s, the team has competed regularly in international competitions since 2008, when their current governing body, the Federazione Italiana Rugby League, was formed. They are currently ranked 13th in the RLIF World Rankings.

The IRL World Rankings are the ranking system for men's national teams in the sport of rugby league football. The teams of the member nations of the International Rugby League, rugby league football's world governing body, are ranked based on their game results with the most successful teams being ranked highest. A point system is used, with points being awarded based on the results of IRL-recognized international matches. Under the existing system, rankings are based on a team's performance over the last three years, with more recent results and more significant matches being more heavily weighted to help reflect the current competitive state of a team.

The Rugby League World Golden Boot Award is a rugby league award handed out annually for achievements in rugby league by Rugby League World magazine. The Golden Boot is given, usually in December after the conclusion of all the year's matches, to the player adjudged to be the best in the world, as determined by a ballot of international media representatives.

The RLIF Awards are the Rugby League International Federation's annual major international sporting award for rugby league. Since 2004 the awards ceremony recognises the best referee, coach, developing nations player, international newcomer, captain and a team of the year.

A test match in rugby league football is a representative match between teams representing members of the Rugby League International Federation.

Malta Rugby League (MRL) is the governing body for the sport of rugby league football in Malta. The board was formed in 2008.

Rugby union in Luxembourg

Rugby union in Luxembourg is a minor but growing sport.

The Nordic Cup is a rugby league tournament played annually between Denmark national rugby league team, Norway and Sweden. It was first played in 2011, in which Denmark claimed the trophy with victory over Norway at Gladsaxe Stadium in Greater Copenhagen. For the first three years, the tournament was acknowledged by the Rugby League European Federation (RLEF), but the games were not recognised as full internationals. In 2014, the fixtures were played in accordance with RLEF regulations and recognised as full internationals.

European Professional Club Rugby

European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR) is the governing body and organiser of the two major European rugby union club tournaments: the European Rugby Champions Cup and the European Rugby Challenge Cup. In 2017 a third tournament, the European Rugby Continental Shield was introduced as a qualification competition for clubs from minor nations to enter the Challenge Cup. EPCR share control of this tournament with Rugby Europe, the international federation for rugby union in Europe, and with the Italian federation.

Rugby Europe

Rugby Europe is the administrative body for rugby union in Europe. It was formed in 1999 to promote, develop, organise and administer the game of rugby in Europe under the authority of World Rugby.

The Spanish Rugby League Association also known as España Rugby League, is the governing body of rugby league in Spain. The body was officially founded in 2013 and has held affiliate-level membership of the Rugby League European Federation since 2015, making the national team eligible to qualify for the Rugby League World Cup.

Seven countries have hosted and co-hosted the Rugby League World Cup. England, France, Australia and New Zealand have hosted the World Cup on multiple occasions and the tournament has never been played outside its traditional 'heartlands' in these areas. The Rugby League International Federation is responsible for picking hosts. From 1954 to 2008 World Cups were sporadic and hosts were picked and tournaments were arranged between the four traditional rugby league playing countries and the RLIF. From 2013 and beyond countries have to send an application to the RLIF to host the World Cup as more teams participate in international rugby league.

The Hellenic Federation of Rugby League, or simply Hellas Rugby League, was the governing body for the sport of rugby league football in Greece between 2013 and 2016. The association was founded in 2013 by Anastasios "Tasos" Pantazidis.
