The National Film Award for Best Direction is an honour presented annually at India's National Film Awards ceremony by the National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC), an organisation set up by the Indian Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Since 1967, the award is given by a national panel appointed annually by the NFDC to a director for their work within Indian cinema. The World Rugby Sevens Player of the Year is awarded by World Rugby each year. It was first awarded in 2004. The award is based in large part on the player’s performance over the course of the World Rugby Sevens Series, along with other Sevens tournaments during the year.

The 2004 Canadian Professional Soccer League season was the seventh season for the Canadian Professional Soccer League. The season began on May 24, 2004 and concluded on October 11, 2004 with Toronto Croatia defeating Vaughan Shooters 4–0 to capture their second CPSL Championship. The championship was hosted for the first time at Victoria Park Stadium in Brampton, Ontario, which granted the Brampton Hitmen a wildcard berth. In the regular season the Toronto Supra clinched their first Eastern Conference title, while Hamilton Thunder secured their second Western Conference title. Though the league decreased in membership they managed to expand to the Windsor - Detroit territory with the addition of the Windsor Border Stars.

The Provence football team is the football team for the French territory of Provence. The team does not have affiliation with UEFA or FIFA, but is an affiliate member of the NF-Board since December 2008. It occasionally participates in international competitions, such as the Viva World Cup, finished fourth in 2009 and 2012.

The Women's T20 World Cup is the biennial international championship for women's Twenty20 International cricket. The event is organised by the sport's governing body, the International Cricket Council, with the first edition having been held in England in 2009. For the first three tournaments, there were eight participants, but this number has been raised to ten from the 2014 edition onwards. In July 2022, the ICC announced that the Bangladesh would host the 2024 tournament and that England would host the 2026 tournament. The number of teams in at the 2026 tournament is also set to increase to twelve.

The 2012–13 IRB Sevens World Series, known for sponsorship reasons as the HSBC Sevens World Series, was the 14th annual series of rugby sevens tournaments for full national sides. The IRB Sevens World Series has been run by the International Rugby Board since 1999–2000.

Emilee Jane Cherry is a former Australian Rugby Union player. She represented Australia in Sevens Rugby and won a gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.

Steven Longa is a Cameroonian-American former professional football linebacker who played for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL). He played high school football at Saddle Brook High School in Saddle Brook, New Jersey, where he earned All-State honors his senior year. He played college football at Rutgers, where he was a three-year letterman. In 2013, Longa was named a Freshman All-American after leading NCAA Division I in tackles by a freshman with 123. He was named third-team All-Big Ten Conference in 2015. He started 37 games during his college career and recorded 342 tackles, which was the third most in school history. Longa forwent his final year of college eligibility to enter the 2016 NFL draft. After going undrafted, he signed with the Seattle Seahawks. He was released by the Seahawks before the start of the 2016 season and was then signed by the Lions, with whom he played for until 2019. Longa was primarily a special teams player during his NFL career; 493 of his 561 careers snaps were on special teams.

The World Rugby Women's 15s Player of the Year is awarded annually by World Rugby at the World Rugby Awards. The award is open to all women’s 15s players who have played international test matches in the voting year, voting is assessed on international test matches only. Prior to 2015, the IRB presented the Women's Player of the Year award from 2001 to 2002, and in 2012 and 2014. The IRB Women's Personality of the Year award was presented from 2003 to 2011.

The World Rugby Women's Sevens Player of the Year is awarded annually at the World Rugby Awards by World Rugby. The award is based on the player's performance during the Women's SVNS tournament along with other international sevens tournaments during the year.

The World Rugby Men's 15s Breakthrough Player of the Year is an award given annually by World Rugby at the World Rugby Awards. The award is given to 15s players who have played no more than one year of international rugby. Voting is assessed on international test matches only.

The International Rugby Players Women's Try of the Year was first presented in 2021 and is awarded to the best women’s 15s tries scored during international test matches within the voting year. The inaugural winner was Emilie Boulard of France. In similar fashion to the Men's Try of the Year, the try is voted on by the fans from four nominations that have been shortlisted by the IRP panel; The panel comprises Conrad Smith, Rachael Burford (ENG), Thierry Dusautoir (FRA), Fiao'o Fa'amausili (NZL), Bryan Habana (RSA) and Jamie Heaslip (IRE).

The International Rugby Players Special Merit Award is presented at the World Rugby Awards by World Rugby. The award is presented to a player by fellow players in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the professional game on and off the field. The recipient of the award is selected by the International Rugby Players organization.

The 2017–18 season was Ulster's 24th season since the advent of professionalism in rugby union, and Jono Gibbes' only season as head coach. Rory Best was captain. They competed in the inaugural Pro14 and the European Rugby Champions Cup.

The 2022–23 World Rugby Sevens Series was the 24th annual series of rugby sevens tournaments for men's national teams. The Sevens Series has been run by World Rugby since 1999. This series doubled as a qualifier for the 2024 Olympic Games, with the top four countries, excluding hosts France, qualifying automatically.

World Rugby Men's Sevens Dream Team of the Year was awarded for the first time at the World Rugby Awards that took place in Monaco on 24 November 2024.
