History

Wreck and Reference (sometimes stylized as Wreck & Reference or W&R) started out as a garage project in Davis, California, in 2009. [1] In 2012, the band released an LP, Y̶o̶u̶t̶h̶ (pronounced "No Youth") and in 2013, released an EP, C̶o̶n̶t̶e̶n̶t̶ (pronounced "No Content"). [2] Later in 2014, their second full-length album Want was featured on "The Best Metal Albums of 2014" list by Pitchfork. [3] [4] Want was followed by a 75-track, online-only release of the samples used to create the electronic instrumentals on the record. [5]

All Lights Fucked on the Hairy Amp Drooling is a cassette released in 1994 by Canadian musician Efrim Menuck, using the name God Speed You Black Emperor!. Given a limited release of 33 cassette copies in December 1994, the album quickly fell into obscurity and was thought lost by the band's fans, often described as the "Holy Grail of Post-Rock". Segments of the tape were leaked online in 2013 and the full recording surfaced in 2022, after which Menuck officially re-released the album on Bandcamp.

Microcastle is the third studio album by Deerhunter. After the album had been leaked on the internet, it became available on iTunes on August 19, 2008, while physical copies were released on October 27, 2008. In the U.S. the album was released on Kranky and on 4AD in Europe. The album was recorded over the course of one week in April 2008 by Nicolas Vernhes at Rare Book Room Studios in Brooklyn, NY.
