The Taiwan Beer Basketball Team is a professional basketball team in the Super Basketball League (SBL), sponsored by the Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corporation (TTL). Before the privatization of the sponsoring corporation in 1999, the team was named "Taiwan Tobacco and Wine Monopoly Bureau Golden Dragons" (公賣金龍) and was among the most successful franchises in Taiwan's amateur Division A conference (甲組聯賽). Since the inauguration of the SBL in 2003, the team has turned into a semi-professional club and won back-to-back championships between 2006 and 2008 bearing the new name of "Taiwan Beer".
Wong Kam-po SBS MH is a Hong Kong racing cyclist. A specialist in road bicycle racing, at age 34 he became a track cycling world champion in the scratch race of the 2007 World Championships, which was not his specialty.
Wu Po-hsiung is a Taiwanese politician who was the chairman of the Kuomintang (KMT). He has been the Interior Minister (1984–1988), Mayor of Taipei (1988–1990), Secretary-General to the President (1991–1996), and Chairman of the KMT (2007–2009). Wu was nominated as Honorary Chairman of the Kuomintang when he was succeeded by Ma Ying-jeou as the Chairman of the Kuomintang.
Zachary "Zach" Bell is a Canadian former professional racing cyclist, who competed professionally between 2005 and 2015 for the Jet Fuel Coffee–Sympatico, Rite Aid Pro Cycling, Symmetrics, Kelly Benefit Strategies, SpiderTech–C10, Champion System, and Team SmartStop teams. Born in Whitehorse, Yukon, Bell resides in Watson Lake, Yukon, and now works as a directeur sportif for UCI Women's Team Human Powered Health.

Since 1984, athletes from Taiwan have competed at the Olympics as "Chinese Taipei", not as the "Republic of China (ROC)", due to opposition from the People's Republic of China.
Wu Den-yih is a Taiwanese politician. He graduated from National Taiwan University and worked as a journalist before beginning a career in politics with a 1973 appointment to the Taipei City Council. Wu was then elected Magistrate of Nantou County, serving from 1981 to 1989. Following two terms as magistrate, he was named Mayor of Kaohsiung in 1990. Wu remained mayor until 1998, having won the office in a 1994 direct election. He then served two full terms in the Legislative Yuan from 2002 to 2008. Shortly after winning a third term in the legislature, Wu was named Premier of the Republic of China in 2009. He served until 2012, when he and Ma Ying-jeou formed the Kuomintang (KMT) presidential ticket. Wu served one four-year term as Vice President of the Republic of China, stepping down in 2016. In May 2017, he was elected party chairman. Wu stepped down from the position in January 2020. Previously, Wu had served the KMT as secretary-general from 2007 to 2009, first vice chairman in 2014, and as acting chairman in 2014 and 2015.
UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team was a professional road bicycle racing team, run by Momentum Sports Group and based in the United States. The team is sponsored principally by UnitedHealth Group. It began at the end of 2009 as a reorganization of the OUCH Pro Cycling Team, with headlining cyclist Floyd Landis leaving the team. The team folded at the end of the 2018 season, with the main sponsor transferring to Rally Cycling.

Mohammed Adiq Husainie Othman is a Malaysian professional racing cyclist, who last rode for UCI Continental team Team Sapura Cycling. He competed for Malaysia at the 2012 Olympic Games, in the men's road race. He also competed at the 2010 and 2018 Commonwealth Games, in track cycling.

Hsiao Mei-yu is a Taiwanese road and track bicycle racer. She participated in the 2006 and 2010 Asian Games. In 2010, she won a gold medal at the women's road race event. In the 2012 Summer Olympics in the Women's road race, she finished over the time limit, and competed in the women's omnium, placing 17th. Hsiao next participated in the 2014 Asian Games and won four medals, including a gold in the women's omnium.
Aaron Gate is a New Zealand road and track cyclist, who currently rides for UCI ProTeam Burgos BH. He represented his country in track cycling at the 2012, 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics. Gate is the first New Zealand athlete to win four gold medals at a single Commonwealth Games.

He represented his nation Taiwan, as a 19-year-old, at the 2008 Summer Olympics and later won numerous medals in track cycling, specifically in the men's points race and individual pursuit, at the Asian Championships. Feng has also claimed five Taiwanese national titles in road cycling, and a prestigious gold medal at the 2013 East Asian Games in Tianjin

Neither the common name "Taiwan" nor the official name "Republic of China" would be used due primarily to opposition from the People's Republic of China. This was also the region's ninth consecutive appearance at the Summer Olympics.
