The second season of the Nigerian soap opera series Wura was ordered on 13 November 2023, by Showmax. The second season began streaming on 4 December 2023, with 100 episodes like the previous season, and concluded on 23 May 2024, starring Scarlet Gomez, Yomi Fash Lanso, Ray Adeka, Iremide Adeoye, Ego Iheanacho, Martha Ehinome, Lanre Adediwura, Miracle Gabriel, Tersy Akpata, Aweodein Adeola, Modesinuola Ogundiwin, Casey Edema, and Mofe Stephens.
The season follows up her feud with Kanyinsola and Fola, taking a new turn as Wura uses Tumininu to gain back the trust of the Iperindo community. Wuraola continues to do whatever it takes to enrich her pocket and keep her image clean as a gold-mining magnate, regardless of her evil plans. [1]

On 13 November 2023, showmax announced the release date for its second season to be premiered on 4 December 2023. [2] [3]
Principal photography of the series set location in Iperindo, a community in Atakunmosa East local government in Osun State, a state in southwestern Nigeria. [4] The community discovered gold first in 1945. [4] In 2017, its gold deposit was evaluated at $5 billion. [5] According to Nigerian Entertainment Today author Anjolaoluwa Abiosun, “its community is plagued with poverty and a lack of basic amenities, including access to potable water, motorable roads, and functioning health facilities”. [4]
Philemon Maigari joined the production team as a director on the 2nd season. Philemon debuted on episode 10, as a co-director alongside Ben Chiadika.
The second season had thirteen main roles receiving star billing, all returning from the previous season, and recurring cast from the first season Modesinuola Ogundiwin, and Mofe Stephens joined the main cast in the second season. On 3 December 2023, Showmax hosted a private screening at Obafemi Awolowo University, where they announced Modesinuola Ogundiwin, and Mofe Stephens, who had supporting roles in the first season, to join the main cast. The first few episodes of the second season premiered at the event, with Wura cast and crew members in attendance including the lead actors Scarlet Gomez, Yomi Fash-Lanso, Ray Adeka, Lanre Adediwura, Ego, and Modesinuola Ogundiwin. At the 10th Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards, the season received two nominations in the categories for Best Writing - TV Series and Best Series (Scripted). [8] [9]
Edo, officially known as Edo State, is a state in the South-South geopolitical zone of the federal republic of Nigeria. Osun State, occasionally known as the State of Osun by the state government, is a state in southwestern Nigeria; bounded to the east by Ekiti and Ondo states for 84 km and for 78 km respectively, to the north by Kwara State for 73 km, to the south by Ogun State for 84 km and to the west by Oyo State, mostly across the River Osun. Named for the River Osun—a vital river which flows through the state—the state was formed from the southeast of Oyo State on 27 August 1991 and has its capital as the city of Osogbo.

The Nigeria Police Force is the principal law enforcement and the lead security agency in Nigeria. Olufunke Ayotunde Akindele popularly known as Funke Akindele or Jenifa, is a Nigerian filmmaker, actress, director, producer and politician. Akindele starred in the sitcom I Need to Know from 1998 to 2002 and in 2009, she won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role, for her role in Jenifa, which brought her to fame. Akindele reprised the role in 2011 sequel The Return of Jenifa and 2015 soft reboot television series titled Jenifa's Diary, for which she was named the Best Actress in a Comedy at the 2016 and 2017 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards. Akindele won the same award in 2020 and 2022, making it her fifth win for the Best Actress in a Comedy category. Akindele is the most nominated actress/filmmaker at the AMVCA and currently owns six wins which makes her the actress with the most wins. She is the second director to gross over a billion naira at the Nigeria box office and currently the Highest grossing Nigerian Director in Nigerian Box Office with a total Gross of over ₦2.9 billion.
Akure Forest Reserve is a protected area in southwest Nigeria, covering 66 km2 (25 sq mi). The Akure Forest Reserve, established in 1948 and spanning approximately 32 hectares. It was created with the primary aim of safeguarding the genetic diversity of the forest ecosystem. About 11.73% (8.2 km2) is estimated to be cleared for cocoa farming and other food crops. Aponmu and Owena Yoruba speaking communities owned the forest, though, there are also minor settlements surrounding the forest. They include Ipogun, Kajola/ Aponmu, Kajola, Ago Petesi, Akika Camp, Owena Town, Ibutitan/Ilaro Camp, Elemo Igbara Oke Camp and Owena Water new Dam.

Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, known professionally as Wizkid, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. Born in the Ojuelegba suburb of Surulere, Lagos, Wizkid is a voice in the emerging Afrobeats movement. His music is a blend of Afrobeats, afropop, R&B, afrobeat, reggae, dancehall, and pop. He began recording music at the age of 11 and released a collaborative album with the Glorious Five, a group he and a couple of his church friends formed. In 2009, Wizkid signed a record deal with Banky W's Empire Mates Entertainment (E.M.E). He rose to the limelight after releasing "Holla at Your Boy", the lead single from his debut studio album, Superstar (2011), which also spawned the singles "Tease Me/Bad Guys" and "Don't Dull".
David Adedeji AdelekeOON, known professionally as Davido, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and record producer. He is regarded as one of the most important Afrobeats artists of the 21st century, and for popularizing the genre globally.
Omo Baba Olowo is the debut studio album by Nigerian singer Davido. It was released by HKN Music on July 17, 2012, and is a mixture of Afrobeats and hip hop. The album was produced by Jay Sleek, Maleek Berry, GospelOnDeBeatz, Spellz, Dokta Frabz, Mr. Chidoo, Theory Soundz and Shizzi.
