Wyomissing Foundation is a private 501(c)(3) foundation in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, United States. [2] It was established in 1928 by three local businesspeople who had founded hosiery manufacturing company Berkshire Knitting Mills, later known as Wyomissing Industries. [3] Grants from the foundation helped establish the Berks County Community Foundation, which was founded in 1994. [4] In 2001, the Wyomissing Foundation donated a copy of Saving Pennsylvania, a video about the dangers of urban sprawl, to every public library in Pennsylvania. [5] In 2008, the Foundation also helped support development of the Berks County Citizens Academy, a project to educate potential volunteer members of county and municipal advisory boards and authorities about local and county government issues. [6]

The foundation's offices are located in a renovated historic mill. [7] Earlier grants by the foundation included one in the early 1930s to help pay for a memorial in Krefeld, Germany, to early German settlers in what is now the United States [8] and, in 1953, financial support for an exhibit of 90 American paintings in Germany. [9]

Jack Coggins English painter (1911–2006)

Jack Banham Coggins was an artist, author, and illustrator. He is known in the United States for his oil paintings, which focused predominantly on marine subjects. He is also known for his books on space travel, which were both authored and illustrated by Coggins. Besides his own works, Coggins also provided illustrations for advertisements and magazine covers and articles.

Pennsylvania Route 12 (PA 12) is a 9.566-mile-long (15.395 km) state highway located in Berks County in eastern Pennsylvania. The western terminus of the route is at U.S. Route 222 (US 222) and US 422 in Wyomissing. Its eastern terminus is PA 662 in the community of Pricetown in Ruscombmanor Township. In the Reading area, PA 12 is a four-lane freeway called the Warren Street Bypass that heads northeast through urban areas, coming to interchanges with several roads including PA 183, PA 61, and US 222 Bus. In Alsace Township, the route becomes a two-lane undivided surface road called Pricetown Road and continues northeast through rural areas, intersecting PA 73 before ending at PA 662.

The Reading Public Museum, in West Reading, Pennsylvania, has displays featuring science and civilizations, a planetarium and a 25-acre (100,000 m2) arboretum. It also offers educational programs for families, adults and children. Galleries feature an eclectic variety from art, armor, and artifacts of world civilizations, to natural history and the cultures of Native Americans and Pennsylvania Germans.

Berkshire Mall (Pennsylvania)

The Berkshire Mall is an enclosed shopping mall in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, a suburb to the west of Reading in Berks County. The Berkshire Mall is accessible from US 222/US 422 at the Paper Mill Road interchange or the State Hill Road interchange. The main entrances to the mall are located along Woodland Road or State Hill Road. The mall first opened in February 1970. The mall's only anchor store is Boscov's, with two vacant anchor spaces.

In 2009, the district residents’ per capita income was $35,814, while the median family income was $70,875. In the Commonwealth, the median family income was $49,501 and the United States median family income was $49,445, in 2010. By 2013, the median household income in the United States rose to $52,100.
