Biography

Magne made a career aboard the Charles De Gaulle . On the 5 August 2005, he was promoting from second officer to captain of the aircraft carrier, succeeding capitaine de vaisseau Denis Béraud.

As a squadron commander, he directed the naval component of Opération Baliste in 2006.

From 2007, he has served in the capacity of Chief of Staff for Maritime and Air Operations .

In 2011, he becomes ALFAN commanding the "Force d'action navale" [1]

The Special Actions Detachment or DAE is the special operations maritime unit of the Portuguese Navy. It is part of the Portuguese Marine Corps. Raised in 1985, the DAE is one of the smallest special forces units within the Portuguese Armed Forces. It is responsible for conducting special operations, amphibious reconnaissance, combat diving, long-range reconnaissance patrols, combat search and rescue (CSAR), maritime counter-terrorism, demolition operations, covert operations, hostage rescue, boarding operations, counter-piracy, eliminating high-valued targets, guerilla warfare and other missions in support of Portuguese and NATO armed forces. DAE's mission and training are similar to American special forces and it often trains with them.

Vice-Admiral Philip Dean McFadden, CMM, CD is a retired officer of the Canadian Forces. He was chief of the Maritime Staff from 2009 to 2011 and last to hold the post before it was renamed to commander of the Royal Canadian Navy.

Fleet Command is responsible for the command, operations, readiness, training and force generation of all ships, submarines, aircraft squadrons, diving teams, and shore establishments of the Royal Australian Navy. Vice Admiral David Lance Johnston, is a senior officer in the Royal Australian Navy. He served as Deputy Commander Joint Task Force 633 on Operation Slipper in 2010, Commander Border Protection Command from 2011 to 2013 and, following promotion to vice admiral, was posted as Chief of Joint Operations from 2014 until 2018. Johnston was appointed Vice Chief of the Defence Force in July 2018.
