xB Machine is a discontinued virtual operating system that is small enough to fit on a USB drive. The last version seems to have been 0.9.1.5 in mid-2008. It brought a secure computing environment that anonymized all internet activity, and had portable encrypted file storage. It had been developed and offered by XeroBank and based on a modified Gentoo Linux distribution. It could be executed as a virtual machine through a QEMU hypervisor, VMWare, VirtualBox, and any other major virtualization system. It could also be booted from on USB or burned to CD for booting. Virtualization, along with the native implementation of a Tor onion routing for internet connectivity and other encryption and privacy tools, had been utilized to increase the security and anonymity of the user. The developers claimed that it is the most secure operating system in the world and that the technology involved is highly resistant to hacking and spying, even in the most hostile environments. The details and transactions inside each xB Machine account were protected with 256-bit AES encryption. The software also had a self-destruct sequence for eliminating any traces that a user may have left behind on the drivespace after using xB Machine. Meanwhile, Xerobank offers a modular package with xB Browser, xB Mail, and xB VPN, parts of it running only for customers of the bank.

Pentalia is a village in the Paphos District of Cyprus, located 6 km (3.7 mi) north of Amargeti. Near Pentalia is the Panagia tou Sinti Monastery, dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The monastery was founded in the 16th century. It received a Europa Nostra award in 1997 for its restoration and conservation. Built at an altitude of 540 metres (1,770 ft) on a steep slope overlooking the Xeros river valley, Pentalia is the third village in terms of agricultural land size in the province and consists of two settlements, the old and the new. In the old settlement the older character of building is evident, as there are many traditional stone-built houses along its small narrow streets. In the new settlement, modern buildings have been erected, which are mostly used as cottages for people who come from the region but live elsewhere and visit during the summers or the weekends. The division of Pentalia occurred due to the caving-in of land after the 1953 Paphos earthquake, leading to a decision by Republic of Cyprus authorities on the movement of the population in 1954. Since the 1970s, the village has not escaped the waves of urbanisation that hit the island, and today it counts a few permanent residents who live in both districts.

Xerospermophilus Genus of rodents

Pygmy ground squirrels are small ground squirrels in the genus Xerospermophilus, family Sciuridae, containing four species from Mexico and the United States. The members of this genus were formerly placed in the large ground squirrel genus Spermophilus. Since DNA sequencing of the cytochrome b gene showed that Spermophilus was paraphyletic to the prairie dogs and marmots, this group is now separated, along with six other genera. Within the genus, the Mohave ground squirrel and the round-tailed ground squirrel were thought to be close relatives, sometimes a subgenus Xerospermophilus, while the spotted ground squirrel and the Perote ground squirrel were formerly placed in the subgenus Ictidomys.
